Pale ruby in color. Strawberry, cranberry, orange peel. Lithe and crisp. If this showed a little forest floor it would be excellent. Drink now.

Light wine with cranberry, flowers, mild spice and watermelon. Short to medium finish and refreshing wine overall.

Nose: green & clean. Smells like rain. Fruit is red and on the tart side like cranberry. Slightly floral. Nice nose. But not overly aromatic. Palate: mouth puckering. Underripe red fruit. Definitely an element of green-ness. Acidity isn’t super high but it lingers on the finish.

Pours a pale purple in color. Med/+ intense, developing aromas of black berries, tea, rose potpourri, swedish fish, pepper, green herbals, dried black fruits (plums, blackberries), smoke, and crushed rock. In the mouth, the wine is dry, med - body, med + acid, med/- tannin, low alcohol, med + intense in the mouth, with a med finish. Overall, very good, can drink now, will hang out for a few years. Fun stuff. Preferred day two to one with a bit …

Light, pretty, stemmy, peppery, savory. Decent length. Comes off as a porch pounder, but there's complexity here and a lot to ponder. Probably selling it short with the score here, but there's a special place in my heart (and cellar) for a killer, drinkable, honest, "90 point" wine that I'd love to smash a bottle of over a bistro lunch. Reminds me a lot of 2021 beaujolais bottlings from Sunier

Pleasant brett funk, genteel leather, stemmy dark red berry fruit. A style I enjoy even if it shows kinda generically (young vines maybe?). I’d serve this slightly chilled, and probably also drink future vintages 2-3 years younger.

Great summer sipper. Put a very slight chill on it. Paired great with a beans and rice casserole + grilled veggies- mushrooms, eggplant, bell peppers and potatoes. Either reductive wine making or maybe volcanic soils, but there is a flinty minerality on the nose and palate. Low alcohol, medium minus acidity and medium minus tannins.

Popped and poured. Thin-skinned variety. Pleasant enough. Very primary. Not very helpful, I’m sure, but this one is “Grapey” to me. Light-bodied. Minerality is dominant. Medium + acidity. Low tannins. Medium finish.

Light ruby. Nice pleasant and pretty nose of dusty red berries and minerality. Palate is very juicy, cranberry and tea notes, light to medium framed, and finishes with a nice jolt of red plum. Was going to say, this is a very lovely little quaffer here, but that would be underplaying its excellence. Definite re-buy for me. Still hangs in on day 4. A nice Beaujolais is a great comp for this thinking back on this bottle.

Purchased at auction because we had recently enjoyed a 2021 vintage, but this was clearly old.

Sampled at the winery tasting room in McMinnville. Another Jason Lett experiment... Didn't work so well for me, this seemed a little odd tasting and funky with some chalky dense tannins and charcoal notes. Very minerally, I didn't write anything down in my notes about fruit at all. Jury is out on this one...

Tasting pour at Eyrie. Nose is very clean and refreshing - fresh mountain flowers, traces of refreshing bath soap. Medium+ in body palate showing more structure than I anticipated.

Very delicate red fruit, light to medium body. Perfect for occasions when you would normally open a white but are in the mood for a red.

This is a fun wine; bright, fresh, a little funky; red fruits with some spice and earthy funk; tart and lithe on the palate with super juicy acidity. I enjoyed it and I'd pair it more like a rose than a red.

Bright, fresh, almost effervescent, and low in alcohol. But for the price it would be an everyday wine.

This has definitely improved since tasting last year, when it was far more nervy and green. Today it is still tense and herbal, but there's a lot more juiciness and spice, and it is simply wild on the nose... aromas of dried strawberry, blackberry, tart cherry, orange juice and zest, cured meat, pine needles, cinnamon, rosehips, fennel pollen.... light and quite tart on the palate, very herbal and very pleasantly bitter (to me anyway), cutting acids and ephemeral tannins. Beautiful …

Retail $35 (Sold Out). 100% Trousseau. Under cork. Trousseau comes from the Jura region of France, an area that many (most?) have never encountered. It is essentially, a sub-region of the Alps, but it is technically its own mountain range. It also has some of the most original grape varieties in France, including Trousseau. There is a bit of it in Spain and Portugal (where it is called Bastardo), but other than that? Pretty darned rare. That is exactly why …
