Light ruby color. Fresh aromas of cherry, rose petals and black peper. Medium-full bodied with silky tannins and fresh acidity. A medium finish. This wine has some classic Nebbiolo character, but is slightly lean amd one-dimensional.

Weekly tasting group #028; Italy: Piedmont (@ My place) : Light red with a slightly carmine rim. Perfumed bouquet with flowers and anise. On the palate very light, a bit earthy and some drying and a little sticky tannin in the finish. Not really a good example for the "king" of Piemonte; Barolo. The wine is ok and has some layers, but it is too light and hardly shows any real character. My previous score of 86 was correct; just …

pale ruby red, attractive nose of red cherry, plum and oak notes - leather, smoke and some spice. On day 1, the palate was marred by quite harsh tannins and a clunkly finish. The next day the aromas were much more prominent, the uncouth finish much diminished. Great value.

The color and the acidity tell this is a Nebbiolo, but for the rest it is a-typical for me. Very open and friendly. No autumn forest or mushrooms impressions. And completely different in two different glasses. (The red Burgundy and red Bordeaux Spiegelau glass.) Both showed some red fruits and some depth. In the Bordeaux glass there was something extra; chocolate and mocha. This was a special experience. The wine is pleasant now and I wonder if it will show …

Surprisingly light. Minimal aromas, a wisp of rose petal. Not much body. Pleasant, but not what you would expect of a Barolo.
