Chosen to go with this years first picking of chanterelles. What a wine! Lovely aroma of raspberries, white pepper and a small hint of smoke. Really elegant with luxurious red berries on the palate, chambolle’esque elegance. Acidity is just perfect, a superb match with the mushrooms tonight!

Klar kirsebærrød. Intens elegant bærduft. God fylde. Strukturert vin med flere lag. Mineralsk og lang avslutning.

Nice fruit but a little short on the finish. Licorice. Time to drink.

Decanted in glass; totally superb after brief air; glorious perfume, beautiful burgundy; kept in temp controlled cellar 53 degrees since release and not near over yet

Nice expression of this vintage. The wine is rounding into perfect shape. Drinking well now but lots of life left.

This is a classic premier cru burgundy. Well-made and needing more time. To drink now open at least 1 hour ahead and decant.

Deep red with orange edge. Very slow drops. Cedar wood, tobacco, red apple nose. Red apple, cherry, some smoke and tobacco. Quite a lot of secondary aromas, with some fruit remaining. Tannins are smoothed off completely, and have a discreet conversation with the restrained acidity. Quite subtle. Edit: Really opened up in the glass, bringing out a lot of cherry and ripe red fruit. Updated score from 88 to 90, as this gave the wine an extra dimension.

North Berkeley Imports Annual Tasting (Project One, San Francisco, California) : Light cherry red color; ripe but focused cherry and brown sugar nose with depth; appealing, suave, ripe cherry and minerals palate with good acidity, should age nicely; medium finish

Decanted 45 minutes. The nose was predominately one of wet earth, strawberries, and just touch of wood. With extended time in the glass, fennel and wintergreen notes became apparent. More for the same on the palate, that is a good dose of wet earth, and a rather stern display of red cherry fruit. Resiny pine needle flavors join the sound acidity, creating a rather inquisitive drink. Great with thanksgiving leftovers

Medium red purple. Clean aromas of sweet red berry with slight strawberry. Brich cherry cough drop flavors with good backbone. 12/01
