Tasted blind, this wine had a deep red center and orangish rims. The medium intensity nose put forth plum, anise, rhubarb, and some tan spices. It showed a bit of reduction at first. In the mouth, this wine was rich and very ripe with rounded tannin, firm acidity, and good length. This wine appeared to be from old vines. It had that slightly over-ripe, intense quality of old vines along with lots of dark fruit. This is a good wine …

My 7th bottle of full case. Nose jumps from decanter. Finish goes on and on. Light on tongue yet so much interest and complexity. Great wine.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction; 2/19/2016-2/20/2016 (Tru Restaurant - Chicago IL) : Small glass, brief note. All black fruit with woodsy spice, slightly more advanced than I'd expect from this vintage. Good concentration and persistence.

Quite dark, glowing. Very expressive on the nose, herbal, forest notes, dark berry fruit, smoke. On the palate quite complex, rich and powerful, round, very long. Although approachable, I'd wait a couple of more years. 93-94+

Great spice, dark fruit and a hint of smoke and iron on the nose. Touch of green on the palate. Freshly cut wood. Very nice, starting to mature.

Good spicy lift to the aroma. In the mouth it is bright and complex with red berry fruits, plenty of freshly tilled earth, a little smoked meat action and fine minerally acidity.

Sad to say that both these bottles were on the downslide from their peak. Not burned, yet, but certainly past their prime. I'd recommend drinking if you've got any.
