Midalidare Estate Merlot Carpe Diem

Decanted for about 30 mins. A rather soft fruity aroma, with clear vanillary oak, cassis. Palate is also rather fruity, oak dominated, easy, although some tannins. Quite enjoyable, pleasant, easy, not complex.

Decanted more than one hour. On the nose rather vibrant dark ripe plummy fruit. Full bodied on the palate, firm and gentle tannins, delivering vibrant jammy dark fruit with low acidity and some oak. A slight bitterness towards the finish. Very fruit forward but monolithic and not quite in balance. Did not have high expectations. Mediocre value for 10€ from Alko.
