Last bottle of 3 and, boy, did I underestimate the potential of this wine. Tertiary flavours have just started to kick in underneath the darker-toned red fruit. Marked tannins, still need to resolve a bit. Well, this is 2005 of course. Foolish to open bottles on 2010/11.

Decent, but showing its age. Pale cherry red in color. No nose to speak of. Sour cherry and minerality on the palate.

A good bottle, drinking extremely well right now.

This has been a perplexing wine, due in part to bottle variation. Out of a case, a couple have been deliciously open, a couple flawed, and several hard to read. This bottle started off thin and mute the first night, an I initially put it into the flawed category. The second night, it showed very fine, with Burgundy-like transparency and lift, accompanying the ruddier, slightly grittier Beaujolais flavor profile, similar to the 05 Vissoux Poncie from last week. I haven't …

Another try, this one not grossly flawed, but showing rather flat and inexpressive. Granger is off my 'buy' list now, in any event. The good bottles are very good, but, like Thevenet, the frequency of flawed bottle makes the good ones too expensive.

Flawed - second bad bottle in a row. Bummer.

Opened a second bottle tonight for a friend, and it was badly off. Not corked, but a lesser version of what happens to Thevenet when it goes off: presumably the work of some bug (brett gone wild?). Tant pis.

Drinking terrifically right now, almost straight from the bottle. Lean, relatively elegant profile for Beaujolais. No sign of grapey flavors, taut acidity, very well-proportioned between fruit-derived flavors, acids, and decent tannins. A stellar bottle, to my taste, and a vigneron I will pay more attention to now.

Texture has opened a lot since about a year ago; palate is still closed, but promising. Some Beaujolais plumpness, but otherwise the fruit is inarticulate. Maybe better day 2. Day 2: The Beaujolais 'plumpness' is all gone now, leaving a very nicely-balanced, still-youthful blend of tannin, acid, and fruit. I'd guess it will be a couple more years before the fruit really finds its own voice, but the texture and structure are so good, it's a pleasure to drink the …

Much more expressive than the bottle consumed about a year ago. Dominated by earth/leather/animal fur and dark fruit. Rustic. Also the tannins does not seem to be fully resolved yet. I wonder if the fruit will last here.

Either this wine is completely dead already or, alternatively, it is in hibernation and a pretty serious one as well. No nose, no flavors on the palate, just a big no nothing. A big disappointment as I thought these wines could age gracefully. Maybe they can but I wouldn't bet on it.

Nice wine. Good qpr. Black cherry in color. Cherry and earth on a nice nose. Cherry, minerals and earth on the palate, but leaning away from the fruit. Surprising amount of grit like sediment in final pour. Another year or two would be interesting.

A delicious bottle of Beaujolais. Bright burgundy in color. Very youthful. Lifted aromas of cherry, cranberry, spices, rose petal and strawberry conserve with a hint of vanilla bean. Silky, but substantial ripe tannins give the wine great structure. Great balanced acidity gives the wine a wonderful finish. Just a hint of leafy taste adds complexity. I would love to try this again in three to five years. ~$21 retail. G@FV-11.

Very nice wine. Needs more time. Very tight right now. Smell is floral and fruity, with an exotic element that is hard to characterize. Taste is cherries and flowers. Good acidity. Good with food..
