This was the Fall 2013 release, celebrating the vineyard manager Ruben Solorzano's 20th year with Stolpman. Gorgeous smoky aromas but dark fruit aromatics are present as well. Opened this magnum to share with great friends over for a pool party and dinner. This has a nose reminiscent of pinot or Grenache, lighter and earthy which through off many guests attempting to guess the grapes. This really screams BBQ food and went well with pulled pork sandwiches and home made macaroni and cheese. A solid crowd pleaser for all palates. Some smokey meatiness on the palate.

Great value with a fruit forward nose, easy on the palate with complexity and structure, but no tannin. Great story behind the wine too. Probably the 2010 and 2011 are slightly better, but perhaps I shouldn't have waited 6 years to drink!

drinkable, easy; took awhile to get its balance. Not much better than the last bottle. Day 2: much improved; maybe 89+. This suggests to me that another couple of years in the cellar may be worthwhile.

Dark ruby red in color, this wine had a very pronounced nose of raspberry, anise, menthol and cherry cola. The mouth feel brought a palate of gamey notes, dark fruits and inviting, juicy tannins. Dark red color. Blueberry, smoke, cracked pepper corn on the nose. Currant, tart red fruits but mostly pepper on the palate. Medium bodied. Pepper notes overwhelm and leave strongest impression on finish: 85. Day 2: MUCH improved. Blueberry and pepper on the nose; more fruit on the palate. Pepper still there, but more balance overall: 88.

There's some lively fruit on the nose but that is overtaken by a powerful alcohol smell, so much so that it nearly burns the nasal passages. Medium body. Amazing acidity lights up the entire palate, making it an ideal food wine. Lots of bright and tart red fruit, again making the palate rather explosive. Firmly structured with no shortage of grip. Not complex but has the stuffing to last for a while.

Really great QPR! I wouldn't hesitate to bump it up a point or two in a year or so. Dark roasted berries with underbrush and toasted oak. This wine is about balance. There is a great deal of depth for such a well balanced wine. The bright acidity makes this a fantastic food wine.

Wow, QPR. Dark ruby with berries and hint of pepper aromas. On the palate the fruit jumps in and is followed with medium tannins and light heat on finish. Not complex, but great value and does beg to be consumed with cheese etc.

Very tasty for the price. I recommend a couple of hour decant. It was good right out of the bottle, but the couple of hours toned downed the petit syrah portion some, making for a smoother, and tastier, wine.

I like this one and a good QPR in this complex value wine. Smoke, game and dark fruits- a lot going on and a great BBQ wine. Well done and I like were the profits go for this wine! Would recommend.

This is the Second Edition of 2010 Cuadrilla, 90% syrah, 10% petite sirah. Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Very deep garnet. Nice nose of black pepper, clove, and plum. Pleasant on the palate with clear if simple fruit flavors and hard spice notes in a smooth but rich texture. Finishes quickly with low grip and light tannins. A very pleasant bottle of vino, esp. if you like it dark & rich. Nice QPR at $18.

Great balance with acidity being bright and supporting earthy and red fruits. Notes of spice and pepper mix in nicely with the earthy nose.

tasted during stolpman tasting -- 50 grenache/ 50 syrah -- med body, low acidity, mild tannins -- dark fruit -- will need to try again. bought 2 bottles as i love the social awareness of the process.
