Last bottle of a case that's been around a while. Mature, fall leaves, sour cherry, vanilla hint. Been a great case.

2012 Oregon Pinots (w/ no formal notes) (Woodward's) : No notes, but a great wine in a "nice grouping!"

This week we had a fading, high acid and very disappointing '12 Stoller Reserve, and yet here's the regular all perfect and wonderful for a youthful nine year old $25 pinot that's going to mature wonderfully from here. Crazy.

Starts off tight, opened up after an hour to reveal dark cherry, sous bois, and some faint anise

As big as I like for an OR pinot, nothing delicate or showing finesse or terroir here. Dark, black fruit with a big hit of stemminess(?) and pepper. Not rich or thick, but dense. Last of 6 btls, will not improve but surely evolve for another 3-5 yrs with ease.

Medium-dark garnet color with aromas of wet cedar forest and white pepper. Flavors of black raspberry and plum that linger with nice acidity and soft tannins. Perfect balance, perfect now!

Medium ruby color, with aromas of cedar box, spice, and forest floor. Flavors of strawberry and black cherry, with some mocha and pomegranate on the medium finish. This is a very nice wine, very balanced in fruit, acidity, and nicely soft tannins, this can easily be drank on it's own or with food.

This surprised me with its acidity and rasp at this stage, it was simple but was juicy and showed cool, stony dark fruits which made it a great accompaniment to dinner, very enjoyable and thirst-quenching for a 2012 pinot, well done Stoller!

- Garnet color with medium forming legs. It's in total harmony with a medium body. Satin-Like texture - Drank at holiday dinner with the Woerner's, Mom, Dad and our entire family. Dinner at 23Hoyt. Wine was perfect. Silky smooth, wonderful finish. Nice fruit and balance. Hard to beat this Pinot. 2012 is a terrific vintage and this fine wine more than holds its end of the bargain.

Piling on to my own note of about six months ago, a glass of the end of a bottle served to guests--a day later (but not tasted myself)--was a real WOW experience based on what I anticipated. So tonight we opened another just for us--it's perfectly at peak, showing savory aspects as well as fruit, perfectly balanced. I wish I could go back to the day I bought just six and buy a case. Killer QPR.

I guess I am surprised by the reviews on this, because I think I may be on the stingy side with 93. My second recent experience with this at a local wine bar, and I have loved it both time. Wish I could find some on shelves.

A year ago, our first bottle presented as tart red fruit, tomato leaf, oregano. Not a barnburner but good QPR. Last night's bottle had put on some impressive weight. Fruit is black and plummy and there's a lot of mushroom/forest stuff going on. Good acidity, evident tannins. Seems more like serious pinot than the everyday-drinker I thought I bought. Interesting!

A bit angular, I felt it was a fair QPR for the $ figure I purchased it for. The bones were solid with a honey crisp apple nose, slightly tart black cherry earth palate. I honestly think I'd rate this higher if the finale was longer lived.

The wine looks violet colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like mushroom and forest floor. It tastes like cranberry and gooseberry. The body is light/medium. The wine has linear texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has medium acidity.

One of the "ringer" upper blocks from above the trees, all Wadensvil clones. Dark raspberry on the nose and then lots and lots of power on the plate. So basically Stoller's hill gives you a good amount of power.

Drank this twice in the last month, once during a vacation near Oregon wine country and again back home (found in good wine store). For $25 this puts a lot of Sonoma RRV Pinots to shame. It's good tasting, balanced and easy to drink. Not a big sophisticate, just good light, fruitful pinot.

Screw cap. 2-hour decant. Herbal nose and sweet raspberry/ripe strawberry flavors. Short finish. Moderate alcohol at 13.8%. A good wine at $25 and perhaps worth revisiting in a year or two but not built for the long haul like many other Oregon Pinots.

3.5 Entry level offering by Stoller. 2012 vintage benefits this entry level bottle. Strawberry and floral accent on the nose. Medium-minus body, medium-plus acidity. A hint of funkiness (not negative). Delightful.

enjoyed it at the winery last October, and enjoyed it again at home. Big, fruit forward, and full bodied for an Oregon pinot. Amazing at this price.

Aromas of dark fruit, violets and a hint of grape. Slightly tannic on the palate with blackberry, blueberry and some floral elements. Initially some leather and chocolate notes come through in the finish, but with some air, the blue fruit component dominates.
