Aromas of cherries and a floral component. Intense flavors of cherry and some woodiness. Dark chocolate, herbs, and a mineral aspect on the finish. ($14)

Purple with a cherry red core. Blueberry, smokey tar, and vanilla nose. Relatively light bodied, tart cherries, cola, plywood, drying tannins, a bit of heat, and a medium length, cherry-infused finish. A lot of nice parts, but not really integrated. Fair value for the price.

What a shame. I used to like this wine, but the bright fruit has faded. The fruit seemed slightly oxidized and dried out. The oak is becoming more prominent. Drink up.

A bit too concentrated and over-extracted for my taste. This is the first Portuguese wine I taste that made me think New World. Let's hope it is the last as well.

Drank as part of our New Year's Eve celebration so no formal notes taken.

Another taster said "smoky cherries" and that is exactly what I was getting. somewhat hollow on the midpalate, drying tannins.

Good bottle, but not quite what I was expecting; Nice dark ruby color with a hint of smoke & oak, but not much on the finish; tasted somewhat port-like after decanting for 1 day; Probably won't be picking up any more of these

Consistent smokey cherries. Very soft on the palate, not flabby, but very accessable. Slight oak hints. Good value.

Tasted next to a deep, dark Petite Sirah, and the crisp, high-toned cherry fruit of this wine really contrasted (in a good way). Noticable oak, but fresh fruit and very good "lift". Tough to complain about this wine given the $10 price. There is some slight bottle variation of late, with the fruit sometimes subdued by the smokey oak.

Again, the oak is starting to dominate. The cherry fruit is soft and round. Somewhat short, but very drinkable.

One hour decant. Dark red color. Lots of sour cherries on the nose. Similar flavors with some black pepper. Really light mouth feel. OK acid.

This seems to be showing a lot more oak than in the past, with the fruit less boistrous. Either this is shutting down or it is time to "drink up".

Need to retaste - due to cold couldn't evaluate properly. Wife liked it a lot.

Consistant showing of ripe dark cherries, smoke and a bit of herbs. Accessable and medium bodied. Good high-toned frame.

Cool black fruits, spice, licorice and smoke. Elegant, accessable and delicious. The structure is noticable but fine. Good length and quite gulpable, although not a simple fruit bomb. This has real character.

I just love the way this wine envelopes the palate with firm black cherry flavors and fire pit smoke. Medium in body with perfect acidic structure which allows this to marry well with food. Nothing stands out as out of place. This does not try to impress with size, just purity and balace.

A truely lovely, graceful mouthful of black cherries and minerals, with a kiss of smoke. Seamless and balanced with mouthwatering acidity. Great with food.

This grows on me. Deep black cherry with dusty chalky tannins on the finish. Dances on the palate with elegance and grace. Not a bruiser, but great delicacy and persistance of flavor.

Very solid, journeyman wine. Medium bodied, with crisp bing cherries as the predominate character. The label states this was aged in new French oak, but the fruit is quite pure... almost as if it only saw stainless steel. Good value here.

This wine is all about the cherries. Dark cherry red color, deep dark cherries on the nose and the palate, with additional flavor of chocolate and some earthiness in the midpalate. Although tending toward simple it is an enjoyable wine that reminds me of drinking a mid-level cabernet that is smooth, concentrated and elegant but at one third the price.
