Slightly better than last bottle. That same oak-note peaking through. Interestingly, the company didnt get that note at all, so clearly my palate differ from most.

Classic barolo. Tar, rose, citrus peel, licorice and herbs. Very young, tightens up with air and needs food. I love it as a young wine, but it is stern. A long decant, cellar it, or try it over several days ( my plan). Lovely wine. Will see how it progresses over the next few days

On the palate this took about a day to really come together; on the first day my experience was of a well-made wine that was still a little clunky and un-enjoyable. Sometimes you get really surprised... I hade the riserva perno 2013 and was utterly unexited. An overoaked, expensive mistake, was my feeling then. Tasted like stale fruit and wood.Time passes on and here i am popping the 2015 perno and... my impression is exactly the same with this wine. Note to self: stay away from Sandri in the future. 88 if i am being generous.

Alongside the 2016 Colla Bussia this had another gear. More open and with deeper, sweeter dark cherry fruit. Floral notes and mint dance off the cherry and there are feral, savory notes of leather and tobacco. Opened about 45 minutes prior to dinner and went faster than the Colla. The most striking thing is how just simply delicious this is. This should have a really open window which starts now for me.

Was very good. Limited experience with Barbera, but what I would expect, i.e. fairly light, fresh, a lot of lift, fruit in the mid red spectrum, really nice strawberry in the lead. Not juicy or at all at risk at coming across as a fruit bomb though. In all very enjoyable and appealing change of pace. Excellent value.

Next to the 'Ciman' the 2015 'Perno' is clearly darker and possesses more dimension and horizontal drive. Muscles and a deep bouquet are overwhelming with herbal pastille, sage, balsam, lavender, dried oranges, light pine and wild berries with a sweetish inner core. Almost five years since the first and last bottle I had, this has clearly evolved. Not as creamy, fruity and charming, this has more secondary notes of meat, iron, wood and salty licorice now, but the cherry is still there of course. Alice, savoury rendition of traditional Barbera but maybe not as good to my taste as my memory from 2017.

This is an extraordinary nice Barolo that is surprisingly open already. Very little tannic structure save for a tiny bit of astringency on the finish. Flora but somewhat earthy on the nose. Dried dark cherries, sandalwood, and forest floor. Velvety and texturally impressive. You can open one now without hesitation but this probably peak in 5+ years.

The '15 Perno is a pretty, mid-weight Barolo with a fairly savory flavor profile for 2015. Pnp then followed over three evenings and it didn't suffer from all the air it got. Very nice young Barolo which didn't show the warm vintage and the 14.5% ABV. Fruit, tar and earth on the nose and even a hint of sweet spices the third evening. On the palate it is very nicely balanced and quite drinkable already now. Classic, traditional and very balanced throughout. Cherries, cherry core, rosehip, dried roses and new leather. Deep, elegant and serious. Powerful palate with sandy, slightly drying tannins. Juicy and again, elegant. Lots of rosehip and dry roses on the palate. The fruit has a mature and sweet note to it, primary and generous.

Medium red. Very tight nose, spicy black cherry, very hard to pull out at this point. Black cherry and sea salt flavours. There is a fair bit of structure and of course acidity. This needs a 5 year or so nap. However, I see my note differs from the ones below. It was pored from a half full Corovin bottle so it may have been more tired then tight.

No in depth-notes. Very approachable and drinkable at this early stage. Cherries, leather, notes of balsamico and herbs. Fruit forward and almost flirtatious, allround and works equally good before, during and after dinner.

Ready to go, already. Bright ruby with tendencies to bricking. Developing and somewhat balsamic nose with red liqueur cherries, old oak, hints of leather and liquorice. Fullish yet slender, with silky-smooth mouthfeel, sweet red cherry fruit and well-integrated high alcohol, thanks to varietal freshness. Drinking well and nothing to wait for, really.
