D. H. Lescombes D. H. Lescombes Cabernet Franc Limited Release, USA, New Mexico

Acquired another bottle, and it was just as outstanding as the first. This wine and the Lescombes winemaker are fantastic. I highly recommend any of their Limited Release wines.

This is a fantastic Cab Franc. Pop and pour, as it didn't need decanting. Slightly lighter-bodied than our typical Cab Franc, this was a rich garnet color with a medium body, no detectable sediment in the bottle. After the first few minutes of air, this wine took on an absolutely phenomenal bouquet of dried pipe tobacco, caramel, and violets.
