Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium ruby colour, with brownish rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas, showing black fruit of blackberry, red fruit of plum, dried fruit of prune, mineral notes of earth, pungent spice of black pepper, oak notes of cedar, maturity notes of savoury. The wine is fully developed. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium, ripe and integrated tannin, medium body and medium (+) intensity of flavours, showing black …

Very smooth on the palate and super-fine in texture, complex, pure, gorgeous aroma of ripe, spicy red fruits. Sweet and full, rounded fruits on the palate, an exceptional lengthy finish. A very fine example of the vintage 2000. The wine has just begun to come around and with a long long way to go, subtle and yet majestic, perhaps a wine for a serious occasion, now to 2040! Absolutely no rush!

Beguiling. This classic old Pomerol is fully developed and quickly fading away. It's currently loaded with secondary aromas of resinous cedar and slightly spicy character. It's heavy with Merlot flavors of ripe plums & black figs, muddy terroir, cherry blossom, and forceful sandalwood, cloves and some essential oil compounds similar to frankincense. There is no time left in this wine; uncork all bottles soonest and drink within 3 hours; it does not last long after opening.

In a great place. Still has tasty dark fruit, nice secondary savory flavors/aromas, with good acidity.

The last bottle in my case. Such is life. And as is often the case, the last bottle was the best bottle as this example showed an opulent character with silky tannins and layers of sweet, ripe, fleshy, polished dark red fruits, licorice, and wet earth and a nice floral accent. If you have a bottle, this is the right time to be drinking it, as it is probably at its absolute peak.

Obviously spicy, less fruity, full bodied, rich of variety of flavors.

Ready to drink with a bit of air, very nice expression of Pomerol/merlot. Tannins well integrated, still good fruit, velvet texture

1 hour in the decanter allowed the wine to fill out, soften and show off its round textured, dark plum, bitter chocolate, licorice and cherry character. The tannins are a bit firm here, and initially, there was a bit of olive, and herb, but most of those characteristics faded with air. My last bottle from the case. On to the 2009, in a few years.

Was pretty dusty and tannic at first. Decanted for two hours. Notes of black fruit, sweet compote and a hint of green pepper. On the palate rather stingy, didn’t show much complexity. Not flawed- just not great.

A fully mature Pomerol, garnet colored, medium bodied wine, drinking in its prime. Highly aromatic nose and layered complex flavor profile: perfumed, spicy red currant, smokey cherries, green celery, chocolate, and leafy tobacco, all wrapped around a fully integrated structured core. Finishes long and dry. Perfect with a rare, chargrilled rack of lamb. Locked and loaded.

Medium garnet. Expressive nose of earthy tones, some smoke and dark fruit, a touch rustic. Medium bodied palate, good entry but less so on mid palate, good freshness, tannins a touch too granular for an aged Pomerol. A decent but not grand Pomerol. I prefer the 2008 of this Cru.

I'm with enochling on this one. Essentially mature and needed 30-60 minutes in decanter to shed hard edges and open up. Excellent earthiness with sweet mature fruit and lovely nose. Not cheap but ver nice 93-94

Elegance nose of earth, smoke, spice, black cherry, leather, with floral and herbal notes reminiscent of Romano Dal Forno in 90s. Fine and balanced structure. Medium beautiful finish.

Drinking in the sweet spot, with silky textures, sweet plum, cherry, chocolate and licorice notes, the wine took about 30 minutes to soften before ending with earthy, spicy, black raspberries and cocoa on in the end notes.

Lots of earth, smoke, black cherries, plum, truffle and spice in the nose. The medium bodied wine seems to have lost a bit of fruit and flesh since the last time I tasted it. I'd probably drink this over the next 5 years or so.

Smoke, coffee, wet earth and spicy black plums, luscious, round textures and a sweet, blackberry finish. This is drinking great today. Based on how older vintages are performing, I’d drink this over the next decade.

Cinnamon, kirsch liqueur, truffle, black raspberry and mocha make up the perfume. Soft and round in texture, this medium bodied wine ends with a fresh, spicy, black cherry filled finish. This is drinking very well today. It could improve a bit over the years, but there is no reason not to pop a bottle today to see how it's tasting.

This offers a chocolate covered, blackberry and truffle nose. Between medium and full bodied, this soft textured wine finishes with an elegant, black raspberry and dark cherry profile.
