Reduced at first, then opened up. Lovely orchard fruit nose. Moderate sweetness, lacks a little bit of cut, nice old vine saltiness towards the backpalate. Very svelte and friendly with a great palate creaminess. Perhaps just the year, but I’d like a little more energy.

Dinner at D Cuisine (Chicago, IL) : Wonderful Kabinett. So chewy and dense with its minerality, a light touch to the fruit, and a slight bit of green herbs. Very light and easy to drink, with a very modest amount of sweetness that feels very old school to me.

This is pretty bonkers delicious and a step up for me from the Hofberg Kabi alte reben (which was also an amazing value). Yellow fruited, more restrained than I might've expected; it's not an attempt to go bigger just because it's an auction wine. Great minerality on the nose and incredible persistence.

Litt snev av hårvann. Ellers litt stum på duft. Men i munnen er den friskere og med deilig frukt. Perlende munnfølelse. Lang og frisk ettersmak. Deilig kabinett som er nokså ukomplisert på dette stadiet.
