A beautifully floral and white pepper nose with Tangy metallic dark red fruit and bloody iron notes on the palate. Quite a bit of concentration and borderline silky texture. This was a true delight.

Beautiful noise and still rich fruit flavor and structure. Stored at 55 degrees since picking it up at the winery.

89-. Good expression of Syrah, with a nod to the old-world. This seems to be falling apart, though. Tannins are still there, but somehow seems much flatter and flabbier. Doubt whether this is going to hold together much longer.

Sweet fruit and spice on the nose. Good mid-palate and fairly rounded. Of moderate complexity with tannin and acid nicely balanced. Drink now or hold for five more years.

91+. Nice. Raspberry fruit, with minerals, bacon, olives, herbs, hints of flowers, and sometimes just the slightest suggestion of vanilla. I like the whatever oak influence that exists is very subtle and in the background. Good clean entry and nice weight on the palate. Finishes spicy and adequately long, although perhaps slightly green and bitter. Good acidity. Ample tannic grip. This reminds me somewhat of a St. Joseph. Deeper and darker on day 2. Could probably improve with short term …

Dark ruby color; somewhat mute nose. Dark cherries, light spice, olives and an umami note. Very balanced; lovely wine with food. Would rate this much higher, but looking for a bit more complexity. Still, this is an outstanding wine from the RRV made in an Old World style.

Very clean and a nice structure. Not a bold wine. Good fruit.

Tasted at the winery. Quick notes: musty on the mouth with a dry, short and somewhat bitter finish. Fair.
