Geht gut runter, leicht angekühlt, voll auf Kurs.

Weniger süß als erwartet, eher voll auf der dunklen Schokolade.

Interessante, würzig-fruchtige Nase, etwas Cognac, kommt dann schon recht rund rüber, Schwarzkirschen, Sternanis, durchaus einnehmend. Aber ganz beieinander ist das alles noch nicht. Mal ein paar Flaschen im Keller vergessen, ich glaub, da klärt sich noch einiges in der Flasche. Würde ich aber auch jetzt zu Käse oder gebackenem Schwein durchaus nehmen.

On its own the port showed more harmony, depth of fruit and velvety texture than the two VDNs from Maury which I opened recently but it performed less well with a chocolate based dessert where the raspberry tinged freshness of Maury, and other Roussillon VDNs, scores. When I try it with Stilton it may be a different story. Very good. Retasted 1/3/2019, I confirm this was a very good match with Stilton and with Roquefort and butter.
