slow ox'd for three hours, then decanted outright for another three. Cranberry is the strongest fruit component on the nose followed by earth and a saline component. On the palate the cranberry hits again along with some light red fruits, dry earth, and good acidity. A very pleasant wine that paired well with braised lamb shank, mushroom risotto, and steamed green beans.

First opened, a bit off and like it was exposed to heat, but after three hours open showed much more fruit and class. Tannins take over after a while and I don't think it will improve much, bu breathing is helpful.

Another very good bottle of this wine, but it's clearly on the downslope. Drink this up if you have it.

Fully mature. Balanced, with a beautiful, complex nose. A bit austere, but perfect for food. Great now, but should last another 5 to 10 years.

Slight bricking, light in color. Amazing bouquet of minerals, flowers and graphite. Very smooth and good fruit still present. 1st experience haaving a mature barolo and I was very impressed. Not sure if this is the same wine the previous tasting note reflects label indicates 1995 Oddero Barolo Rocche dei Rivera di Castiglione and this was the closest wine in cellartracker (didn't want to create a new wine as there were two similiar labeled wines already).

Whoa, what happened here? Acidic red raspberry fruit, decent earthy nose, but a lack of concentration, short finish. I felt this the poorest wine of the night, but it actually was the first red emptied. Go figure.
