Cork, decanted for on hour. Lots of primary fruit with lovely tertiary flavours drinking very well now and will do so for the next 3 to 5 years. showing chocolate cedar forest floor and dried and cooked red and black fruit characteristics drinking well now, but primary fruit will begin to diminish in the next three or so years. SLDS February 2023 : Graphite, with a blend of white pepper, red currants, and meaty smokiness. Punchy flavors with lots of fruit density and body. Well-made in its style.

Dark purple colour, dark berries, warm varnish, brambles. Palate includes Plum, dark chocolate, liquorice, stewed berries. Fine grained tannin, fresh acidity. Very drinkable.

I thought this was an outstanding wine. Very deep and dark in colour and intense in flavour with strong leather and tobacco tones. While 9 years old, and an impressive wine now, this could easily be put away for a few more years.

This is a big, bold, big, Shiraz. 2013 and it still tastes young. Deep colour, and intense on the nose and palate. Very full flavour, exceedingly generous, but not excessive oak. I imagine not a style for everybody, but a great example of bold McLaren Vale (Blewitt Springs) Shiraz. Clearly has further cellaring potential too.

Fine, structured syrah with plenty of power but no overripe fruit to be found here. Drinking well but will develop pleasantly over the near future. Relatively well-priced for quality level.

A vibrant and deep purple colour. The nose is fresh with intense cassis and blackberry fruits mixing it up with some tar and menthol. It is rich and creamy, with layers of flavour and good freshness to the long finish. Still very youthful.

Moncur Syrah/Shiraz (Bistro Moncur, Sydney) : Ripe black fruit, spice oak. Bit porty and beastly. Bit of a bully. Nice…but only today…tomorrow I think I'd find it too avuncular and aggressive

Big, big, big. Big tannins, big acid, big fruit. Even comes in a big, heavy bottle. Needs time - too 'in your face' for me at the moment

Moncur Syrah/Shiraz (Bistro Moncur, Sydney) : toast, blackberry, slightly tart red currant note…sweet berry and plentiful tannin. Though it's well made it's also, for me, a little generic and anonymous.
