Alessandro Veglio, Barolo

Very nice entry-level barolo that has held steady for years - it wasn't bad 5 years ago when I bought some of this, but a little aging has provided more complexity and I think it has at least 5 more years of pleasure in it. Shows masculine characteristics of leather, underbrush and bitter chocolate, but is also smoothed out with notes of clove and black cherry. Overall, quite a bit going on for an affordable barolo.

Light ruby red. Light, elegant, sructured and concentrated Barolo with liquorice and some aceton on the nose. Very good.

Spicy, generous and ripe, almost confected fruit on the nose. The tannins are a bit angular and rather drying towards the finish. Very concentrated and lacking a bit of lift. 87-89
