From a 187. Appearance: Clear, medium lemon. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with aromas of tropical fruit - mango & pineapple, lemon grass, and saline. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium body, medium+ intensity, 13.0% abv with flavors of passion fruit, saline, and lemon grass with a medium+ finish. Balance: Very Good-Excellent Length: Excellent Intensity: Excellent Complexity: Very Good-Excellent Tasted blind and called as Marlborough Sauv Blanc has similar acid profile and grassy notes. Interesting and delicious.

Tasted at the winery in Nemea, Greece. A step up in complexity and salinity from the base Assyrtiko. Nice wine.

Bought from a reputable retailer upon release and stored properly since. Drank with food. The color was vividly golden yellow, unlike all other white wine I drink. Had an interesting nose predominantly of stone and mineral elements. Not getting any citrus, in contrast to previous TNs but maybe too many additional years have passed leading to it calming down. It was bone dry with a medium body and certainly challenged my axiom of not rendering a verdict on any wine …

More serious and structured than the Pavlidis served prior to it. A mineral and citrus laden nose with some spring herbs. Toothsome and deep on the palate with a firm mineral spine. Structured. Quite long.

Much better than last tasting 3 years ago. More depth of flavor but still fresh with good acidity.

Mineral, citrus, crisp and high acidity. Very fresh wine. Good intensity, food friendly. Perhaps a tad too much acid for me at this stage.

Interesting nose of citrus fruit. Fresh and crisp on the palate with good acidity and some salinity. I was expecting more flavor intensity given the price and positive reviews.

By the glass via Coravin at The Gym, Lefkosia, Cyprus. Fresh and pure, bright, citrus, mineral and true to the terroir . Polished but firm acidity, chalky, good fruit across. Was eclipsed by the oak fermented 2013 sibling of it ( Papies 93) but still on its own a super solid 91

Unusual and lively covering both ends of various spectra. There’s plenty of energy here so don’t serve too cold. Pleased the aficionados. Great with snacks too. 9/8 update: lost a tad of fruit but still going strong one week later under cork in the fridge!

Golden color, balanced with complex flavors , good structure with acid to balance, Assityrko has good flavor and keeps a fascinating flavor all its own, we felt like we were back in SANTORINI, drank with mahi mahi, will drink again.

Bright and fresh. Citrus fruits. This is seriously salty, like tasting the rim of a margarita glass. Perfect for warm weather and summer menus.

This Greek wine got a very good review on a wine blog I read last year. Can't remember which. I try Greek wines whenever I can, figuring they can use the business. Haven't had much luck so far. This bottle has a finish that is tart to the point of being astringent, although at first taste it held promise.

Aucune note formelle. Très recommandable, dans les meilleurs domaines de Santorini avec Argyros et Hatzidakis.

SPicy nose, cinnamon, ginger with lime notes Lots of acidity, a wine you can really chew, spicy and concentrated So much here! Has a refreshing saline quality and then there's a certain roundness on the finish Fascinating wine, so intense. I think it will be better in 6 months to a year when it has opened up a bit.

Wine tasting in Greece; 4/28/2017-5/6/2017 (Athens, Santorini and Porto Heli) : Tasting visit to Gaia Winery, Santorini. This was my favorite wine of the tasting line up. 100% Assyrtiko - stainless steel fermented. Some lemon/lime citrus on the nose. On the palate, bright acidity and salinity followed by minerality. Of all the wines we tasted today, I found the Gaia's to have the most pronounced salinity. Maybe it is because the vineyard is literally right next to the beach - …

Medium intensity scents of citrus and salty minerality. Less fruity and more salty compared to the Vassaltis from the same vintage that was tasted side by side. Good tension as well with medium to long finish.
