Encore très jeune. A attendre.

Light red. Black fruit and licorice on the nose. Lean, subtle, crisp fruit, anise, excellent acidity, and fine soil throughout.

22% Sciaccarellu, 18% Niellucciu, 15% Carcajolu-Neru, 15% Montanaccia, 12% Morescono, 10% Morescola, 8% Aleatico planted on granite from 1960-1962. Biologique & demeter certified. 14% vol. Served with bourgogne glass, light ruby red, sweet floral nose with hints of leather and broadleaf. Fresh cranberry acidity, silky tannin. Remind me a Cote de Nuits rouge village or premier cru from a famous domaine.

Clear, ruby center. Wild aromas of blackberry, fennel, gunflint, and undergrowth. Medium body with terrific soil underpinning. Tangy, smoky blackberry and then blueberry fruit, spice, and herbs with moderate tannins in the face of its light to medium weight. As always with this producer, great interest and real soul-uniquely Italianate French wine. This should easily last until 2030.

Clear, bright ruby. Herb, licorice, and black fruit on the nose. Light but assertive and more concentrated than usual for this producer. Fantastic mix of pine needle, anise, and blackberry all underpinned by distinct flintiness. I would have guessed some southern Italian region given the overall profile, but lord knows where since my knowledge outside of Piemonte is woeful! At any rate, a fantastic summer weight red with all of the intrigue I usually find in Abbatucci wines. It will …
