Another nice showing for this blend of 48% SB, 26% RG, 24% Semillon, and 2% Tocai Friulano. Notes of Meyer lemon and tart apricot lead the way, with hints of sea salt and wet rocks weaving in. Rounds as it warms, and superbly balanced with lively acidity throughout.

Consistent with previous bottle. Lovely wine. Paired perfectly with seared spiced ahi tuna.

Light pear on the nose. Dry with lemon zest on the palate and a slight bitterness. Likely a great match for seared scallops or grilled fish. Tasted at Matthiasson in Napa.

Medium straw color. Nose of assorted citrus fruit, honeysuckle, powdery crushed rock and perhaps a touch of underripe peach. Very nice. Similar flavors on the palate with juicy citrus and orchard fruit mixed with light floral notes. Medium+ acidity. Medium body with slightly rounded mouthfeel. Long finish. Great bottle of wine.

48 SB. 24 Semillon, 25 Ribolla Gialla, 2 Friulano Crazy blend for Napa, heck, crazy blend for anywhere! Hazelnuts, autolytic yeast, papaya, lime and passion fruit on the nose. Medium + intensity of aromas. Fresh tarragon and hazelnuts start the palate, followed by melon, tangerine and orange blossom. Medium + intensity of flavors. Nice long finish, around 25 seconds, that's driven by nuts without feeling oxidative. Very unique white blend. Medium body, medium acid. Drinking very well right now, at …

A perennial favorite of mine for sure. Delicious with hints of citrus, peach and pear. Great blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Ribolla Gialla, Semillon and Tocai Friulano with Sauv Blanc being the largest % in the blend. Beautiful wine.

Visit to Matthiasson (Matthiasson, Napa CA) : The nose is perfumed and vibrant with tones of quince, nectarines, lemon peels, apple blossoms, pears, cinnamon spices, some nutty notes, and vanilla. The Medium bodied feel shows off the vibrancy of the nose with mouthwatering, medium+ acidity. This is lovely and fresh with good complexity across the nose and palate, though with a slight lack of depth.

A puckery trinity leads the way, with notes of white grapefruit, lemon, and lime up front. Hints of unripe peach and sea salt weave in, with minerality emerging too. There's an unexpected richness/weight here as well that is welcomed. Tasty, and a nice foil for tuna rillettes.

Quite pure and memorable with wild aromatics and lanolin mouthfeel. Made for cheese.

A stunning blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano and Sémillon. Layered, nuanced, subtly complex - a wine lovers dream. The nose is complex with layers of white grapefruit, lemon zest, stone fruit, white peach, wet stone. Crisp, fleshy fruit in the mouth, with layers in mid palate, and a subtle, lingering finish. A joy to drink, must buy and cellar the 2011. ASAP.

First tasting of this wine. Pale yellow. Interesting nose of wet stone, white peach and dandelion. Intriguing flavor combination of citrus, mineral and zesty acidity. Very fresh and crisp but not light weight. Medium weight and texture. Unusual and tasty, not a bad combination.

13.6% alcohol. An interesting and unique wine, with a chameleon of a nose featuring plenty of minerality, stone fruits, and a faint floral note. In the mouth, cool fruit and an almost austere quality that is pleasing and not a turn-off. There's a spiciness about the minerals on the palate and strong acidity. A fun wine, if perhaps missing a little bit of delineation and precision to make the next level. B+

Great citrus nose that did not follow on the palate. Light on its feet, almost a bit too light. Sourish finish. I found this blend to be just wine and uniteresting.

White Bordeaux meets Italy. Juicy fruits, zesty minerality, and an interesting savory/pine oil note make this fairly unique. This can serve as either a quaffable white on the patio, or an interesting paring with food (spicy BBQ shrimp?). A definite addition to the annual Summer wine buying list.

Vibrant green color. Fragrant nose shows sweet pea, melon, mint and animal vanillin oak. The palate is rich and sweet with vanilla and creme brulee adding interest to the aromatics of the nose. This wine is texturally astounding and has great length. Such a cool wine for its combination of vibrant aromatics and rich Bordelais texture. Now we know what Napa is capable of. This wine is perfect for a wide range of foods but chicken seems like a nice …

Aromas of pear, citrus and white flowers. Medium to medium-fill bodied with medium acidity and high-toned tropical fruit and citrus notes on the palate. Creamy and round on the palate with good length.

Very clean, early drinking, refreshing white blend in Italian tradition but with little more complexity, grassy sauvignon blanc is notable

I gotta hand it to Matthiasson - this is another gorgeous white wine, with so much going for it. Like the 2008 (which I gave a 92), it's a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano and Sémillon, but the percentages have changed to increase the Sauvignon Blanc and Tocai and decrease the Ribolla and Sémillon. I need to spend a little more time with it to pull out all the differences and I may do a taste test …
