Oldenburg 2019 Stellenbosch Merlot. Mid dark Ruby, variation, brick edges; some viscosity, tears; red, fruit, herbaceous nose; earthy; mid acids; mid plus tannins; semi long balanced red fruit and berry finish; still tight. 17/92.

Ganz viel Kirsche und dunkle Waldfrüchte in der Nase. Am Gaumen kommen etwas Holz und dunkle Schokoladenaromen dazu. Sehr süffig.

Mid-deep ruby colour with baking spices, fresh oak aromas, red berries, raspberry, and a touch of blackberry jam. There are plenty of toasty oak influences on entry, making it super appealing if a little 1-dimensional. The texture is sweet and powdery, with a gorgeous melted chocolate core. Medium-bodied and accessible, the wine showcases super gentle sweet-edged tannins with a cocoa powder dryness as it expands along the lingering length.
