1 hr decant. Big nose of black and blue fruits and spice. Great depth of flavor with blackberry, cassis, oak spice and tobacco. Seamless throughout, a consistent favorite.

Get together with some friends: 2015 Carter Beckstoffer OG cab, 2015 Carter Weitz cab, 2015 Scarlett Reserve cab, 2015 Becklyn Missouri Hopper cab, 2015 Hall 1873 cab, 2015 Lewelling cab, 2015 Scarlett cab, and 2009 Quivet Kenefick Ranch cab. Dark purple fruit - blackberry, currants, dark raspberry, and a little blueberry. Smooth mid-palate with decent depth and nice flavors of dark berries and some spice. Solid finish but not overly long nor deep. Popped/poured but drank out of a decanter …

Found a couple bottles in the secondary market at a nice price. Primarily blue fruit with a touch of red - blueberry, dark currants, and dark cherry. Smooth mid-palate but the fruit came across lighter than expected. I expected a little bigger/fuller fruit like the 2010 vintage in light of the 94 rating from WS. Solid finish but not overly long nor deep. Decanted for one hour and drank over another three. Not much improvement with time but at a …

A rich and impressive Cabernet that has aged beautifully and has plenty of life ahead of it. Dark purple in color, full in body, nose of blackberry, mocha, and graphite. Thick tastes of milk chocolate, black raspberry, sweet cherry, and cedar, with tannins integrated on the finish. 15.2% alcohol. This is the first Quivet I have tasted that holds a candle to Carter, which is the (high) standard by which I judge Mike Smith's (fantastic) wines. When Tanzer reviewed this …

Opened and let it breath for 4 hours before consuming. It was still a little tight even after letting it breath at the beginning but opened up over the next 2 hours. Great fruit forward with a long mouth filling finish. The wine is still very young and should last for another 5-10 years.

Brought to restaurant, decanted there for 30 minutes. The nose was great, with plush dark cherries and other dark red fruits, cocoa powder following through to the palate with mostly smooth tannins and light heat. This needed more time open to resolve, but tasty and impressive as served.

Double decanted into bottle six hours prior to meal. Red and black fruits and cassis with sweetness in front on nose and palate with light tannins on back struggling to balance. A little chocolate or coffee on finish.

Decanted for 4+ hours. This is very different from how I remember the last bottle of this. Seems much more integrated now, showing a great Cab nose with flowers, black and blue fruit, cassis, hints of vanilla and oak. I'd still say give this a few hour decant at least, or let it sit in the cellar for another year or two.

Sad I have no more. Didn't give the last bottle the proper decant and the first glass was tight 89ish and the final glass just started to open 93ish. If I had given it 2-3 hours like last time I would of been rewarded. Oh well.

Decanted out of the cellar, 55 degrees, drinking from Rieldel Somm Bord glass. Definitely tight out of the bottle, and needs some time. Still cool from the cellar, but nose of ripe blackberrys, alcohol is noticeable at this early point, and tannins that definitely grip! +2 hours: Up to room temp now, 70. Riper nose has shown itself, more jammy now. Tannins are a bit rougher but have smoothed out a bit, still a bit of alcohol bite to it. …

Drank this at a WineBerserker dinner in NYC last night. This bottle was purchased at a tasting with Mike Smith of Myriad. Perfume nose. Dark grape color. Weighty wine with a long finish. This kept getting better throughout dinner. It's a Wow wine. After I got home, I read that it was rated 94 by WS.

There have been so many conversations about the 2009 vintage and how it was an off year for many...not this wine!!! The best Kenefick yet. The vineyard is located accross the street from Araujo Estate, and in falls right in line. I would love to do a blind between the 2 wines. This wine is big and deep, after an hour it was ready to drink. Reminds me a Hillside Select!! Ripe and plush dark fruit, cassis, currants, touch of …

Tasted this with Mike Smith in Napa. I never heard of Kenefick Ranch, but I trust it will start popping up on your radar screen. Smooth. My one word comment... Yum. My #2 after than 09 Kenefick '10 Syrah.

Excellent wine! Decanted for 2 hours. Gorgeous black cherry fruits along with some nice spice notes. Super juicy with a seamless, silky texture. Terrific mid-palate and finish. Drinking very nicely right now.

Drank this first with Mike Smith and then we brought a bottle to Gary Danko at the end of the trip. With Mike, wine exhibited blue and black fruit. Fruit forward and soft. Acidity is natural and fruit is really ripe. Very well balanced, no woodiness. At Gary Danko with food, the wine lengthens and is more lively. Rich and black fruit and is a great food wine. Spicy entry, round mid palate with a soft and rich finish.
