Drank this a year ago.. Disappointing, quite dominated by smokey oak and oak tannins. Short on the finish.

I was concerned that I may have left this go too long, but I served three bottles with Steaks last week and they were great. Lots of fruit, but also a bit of earth and chalk

Notes of plum, berry, smoke on a silky frame with rasberry nuances in the finish.

Aromas of vanilla infused wild berry, smoky plum, pine needle and rhubarb. Smooth, fleshy on the palate showing tarry dark fruits, damp earth and a hint of tree bark. The finish shows juicy fruits, minerals and a little chalky tannin. This bottle showed much better than one a year ago. Good over the next couple of years.

aged with subtle residual bing and black cherry fruit; moderate acidity; more cedar earth and tobacco notes; this has aged very well, but no need to hold longer
