Naso di buona intensità e di notevole finezza, davvero Sangiovese/Toscana: mora di gelso, viola, rosa, lavanda, prugna, mirtillo, tabacco, cuoio e spezia. Sorso energico che esprime l’equilibrio della perfetta maturità, con tannini integrati e risolti. Finale che si distende sulle note vegetali e speziate. Buono davvero. Nel pieno della sua maturità.

In the glass, immediately noted (what seemed to me like) new French oak hallmarks on the nose to the extent I wouldn't have guessed this to be Chianti by stereotypical hallmarks. Dark ruby. Dust sediment on the bottle side. Tar and earthy, mushroom bouquet on the nose. Extremely ripe with velvety tannins. Heavy and glycerine like, but balanced. Secondary flavors rule. Acid minus (that somewhat took away from the wine), long finish. If you are into tertiary flavors, keep it for another 5-10 years. Worked amazing with a fatty rib eye steak.
