Bassermann-Jordan, Forster Ungeheuer Riesling GG, Pfalz

Lemon-lime and crunchy citrus up front with a light petrol/kerosene hint, then a firm mineral line (wet stone/chalk) and a touch of white blossom. The palate is dry, tight and energetic with racy acidity, concentrated citrus and green apple, and that salty, stony backbone carrying it through. Long, precise finish that stays mineral and slightly phenolic rather than fruity.

Delicious. Richer riper style of Riesling but with plenty of tension to balance it out.

Floral bouquet with pear and stone fruits. Lime and pineapple on the palate. Lean and elegant with nice acidity and medium finish.

blind I guessed Riesling 2018 but I was suprised of the Pfalz region. For me leaner and more focussed. Powerful, yellow stone fruits. Not too sweet, balanced. Good acidity structure. 92+

Very cold sample. Nose: defined, sweet notes, candied apple/ripe nature. Palate: some oak here? Full and plush. Nice texture, subtle sweet-natured.
