Seta resto in Milano. Nice golden color. Beautiful pineapple, nice sweet fruits, butter, vanilla, smell the nice mountain sun. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, med finish. Mouth is not very pronounced, quite buttery and creamy, sweet apple and pineapple. Not super impressive mouth, definitely time to drink up.

The unusual cepage of this blend, that others have remarked as having potential to be disjointed, has really come together in time. Succulent and rich with herbal overtones. This will keep going for some time. No hurry.

Still very young! Has a bit of puppy fat to shed and oak to assimilate but this is a beautiful wine now and full of promise for the future. Ripe fruited, light grassy feel, oaky dynamic but the wine owns the oak, light smoky feel at times. Lots of palate presence and holds well against a variety of foods, good acidity and quite polished. Waxy on the palate. Age would help here but a solid 92 from us at this …

Opera Wine 2017 - 100 Great Producers (Verona, Italy) : { OperaWine2017, Verona } Large-scaled, richly textured, though it's also buttressed by equally generous acidity and keen balance. It wasn't so easy to focus on what was in my glass - all I could think about was the contents of the bottle sitting on my counter, in a wide-bottom decanter for 2 or 3 hours of air. There's a lot to enjoy here, and there's no rush at all, so …

SALONE DEL GUSTO 2014; 10/26/2014-10/30/2014 (LINGOTTO FIERE TORINO) : Da Magnum. Più frutto, più ricco, bergamotto e burro alla camomilla. Bella scia nasale che pizzica nel naso. Bocca estroversa, oleosa, accattivante, il legno è più invasivo, quasi dolciastro, ma non fastidioso. Tanta salivazione e mineralità in chiusura. Più simile come frutto al 2012 che alla precisione del 2010

Helping a friend with a north-east Italian Wine List; 4/3/2014-4/10/2014 (TBD) : Green/gold in color. The nose has oak, vanilla and lemon cream. Slightly oily texture. Better on the palate. Nice lemon fruit. This has a fair amount of oak, but the wine handles it nicely. A Pinot Blanc, Chard, Sauvignon Blanc blend. Very nice and should age out a few more years I think.

This is a one with split personality, all blend components show in turns without mixing. Toffee, caramel, smoky notes, white pear, grass on the nose. Quite fresh and multi-faceted palate too. But there is some elegance, possibly needs more time.

Served before our Thanksgiving feast as an aperitif. I have nothing to add to my earlier notes, except that this time I made the mistake of serving this AFTER the incredible 2011 Sea Smoke Chardonnay. It seemed a bit anemic by comparison (it is definitely NOT weak by any standard). I should have served these in reverse order. I still really liked it.

Pale golden in colour, very interesting and complex nose, grassy, herbal, slightly oaky, ripe stone fruit, exotic fruit notes and citrus fruit/mandarine. Very round on the palate, great fruit, limes, pear, peach, creamy, spicy and fresh, very long too. Great quality and might well improve with more bottle age. Impressive.

Brought to dinner at Boca. See 9/29/13 note. Floral nose with citrus. Delicious citrus and tropical fruit. Surging, full mid-palate. Excellent length. Creamy/silky texture. Crisp acidity. Pinot Bianco doesn't get any better than this (of course, it is 30% Chard and 10% SB).

Served to poker group last night. No formal notes. Superb, flavorful wine that bursts with personality. 60% Pinot Bianco; 30% Chard; 10% Sauv Blanc. Mouthwatering acidity and persistence. Loved it. Can't wait to pop another one.

Wine Adventure - Alto-Adige, Valpolicella, Soave, Bolgheri, Barbaresco & Barolo; 9/11/2013-9/20/2013 (Italy) : White blend. Nose of citrus and mown grass. Palate of citrus at front and then carmelized butter from mid-palate through to a long finish. As typical of Terlan - mineral overtones. They have really coaxed the lees into providing extracted flavors and texture. Only neutral oak.

Grilled pineapple on the nose. Very rich palate full of butter and then ripe apricots and more pineapple. Quite long. It feels old enough now and I would probably recommend drinking up - but something tells me that this will age for a while longer... their Vorberg Pinot Blanc certainly does.

Very beautiful wine. Very rich and complex, stunning. Paired with open ravioli of lobster, melon and bisque de homard. Was impressed by this wine, very nice and addictive bitterness which melts beautifully. Hope to drink again!

Gambero Rosso 2012 (Metropolitan Pavilion) : The nose showed sweet floral notes and peach. On the palate, it was smooth and smoky with a mineral twinge that pleased the senses. The staying finish showed citrus notes and lingered for close to a minute on the mid-palate.
