Isabelle Carles et Franck Pascal Fruit

What a great introduction to natural wine for someone who drinks lots of bigger French reds, namely Merlot and Cab Sauv. This one is 60/40 Merlot/Cab and has a really nice, complex bouquet on the nose that follows through in the taste of light acidity and funk, while not losing the bright fruit character. Lovely Bergerac. Comes across as merlot-heavy, but mostly in that it's dark-fruited and silky. Deep, dark, and earthy (muddy in a good way), this is very pleasant, and continues to expand over three nights.
