(Sam's Beef Hotpot with Derek, Johnny et al) Lemon in glass, effusive nose of white fruit, tropical fruit and gooeseberries. Supple and textured, almost oily minerality, tight acidity. Went amazing with the beef broth.

Drank this wine in summer '23 with crab cakes. Really nice wine, but what a crazy price. I only bought it because I had a $50 gift certificate. A heavily oaked sauvignon blanc. No place that I know of treats a sauv. blanc this way besides bordeaux. I would love to have a few more, but not at the going price of $50 something per bottle.

Yellow tropical fruit, and citrus blend to create this forward, sweet, juicy and creamy wine, finishing with notes of lemon curd and crunchy green apples on the backend. Drink from 2023-2029.

The 2020 vintage UGCB tasting in Amsterdam 03/06/2023 (Amsterdam) : Surprisingly friendly with well dosed wood and gentle vanilla, elegant, smooth bitters and a refreshing aftertaste.

November 2022 in Zürich) www.vvwine.ch

Strong honeysuckle on nose and palate followed by grapefruit; slightly under balanced acidity and medium body. Hint of chalk. Longish finish. Good but not a great value.

Heavy notes of honeysuckle, preserved grapefruit rind and wet wool socks initially dominate the entry but become less intense as one finishes the bottle; lower acidity leads into blandness by the last sip. Both combine to create the impression of 100% semillon, but strangely this is 100% Sauv Blanc.

Honeysuckle, lemon curd and crunchy green apples come though easily on the nose, while sweet, lemon rind with hints of orangeend things nicely on the juicy, creamy, fresh palate. Drink this on the young side. 88

Non-blind. 2 glasses missing under cork in fridge for 4 days. (Home Restaurant á la Maruetsu.) Impression: Outstanding, with definite upside for cellaring. Nose still shy with roasted oak. On the palate, mellowed quite a bit and spreading its wings a little. Not the same wine as last time. Has watery entry and mid-palate (!) but ends with a strong fireworks display of chunky roasted oak, earthy apples, wet wool and fantastically supple acids. YUMM! This is incredibly young and …

Non-blind. Had immediately at Mother-in-law's Oshougatsu luncheon. (Served in petite glasses.) Impression: Very good. Yellow. Nose oozing with roasted oak and some young Sb-fruit. Fine acids in a very fruity, young white Bord. Mid-palate: rather thin. Finishing with finesse and lashes of roasted oak. 85% of btl remains and will be thoroughly scrutinized on Friday. (Wife: Didn't like at all.)

Minneapolis Wine Club Does Merlot (Gail's House) : Pale gold color. Popped and poured. Drank one glass over an hour. This was at room temp and probably would have been a little better with a little chill. The nose shows light oak, a little floral, citrus, grapefruit. The palate is consistent, nice minerality, medium light body, medium finish. Nice. 88+pts.

Cloudy in the glass. Sweet nose of hard candy. Velvety smooth on the palate. Almost a little off-dry but a nice balance of residual sugars and acidity. Lingering slightly tropical finish. Quite good.

Bright clarity, pale straw-yellow color. Very faint, nose-in-the-glass green banana, melon, and vanilla. Light body, taste of citric mélange with lime accent followed by acidic imbalance; no complexity. Lingering finish. Did not improve with rotisserie chicken, sprouts, and boiled red potatoes.

Light gold. Nose of oak, vanilla, lemons and chalk. Good use of oak on this wine and there is a nice buttery finish. Good acidity and a really solid wine.
