Gallo Family Vineyards / Gallo of Sonoma Chardonnay Signature Series

Was skeptical given some negative reviews. But pleasantly surprised. A lovely mature Chardonnay. Luscious fruit and smooth, rounded mouth-feel. Enjoyed it over the course of three evenings and it held its charm. Gina Gallo, thank you for your artistry ;-)

Nasty! Poured it out.

This is the second of two bottles I got 2 years ago - both were so bad that we did not drink it, One of the few times I just dumped a bottle after tasting and letting it set for a while and tasting again. ugh ugh

Opened this and both tasters agreed it was not drinkable.

funk,breadcrumbs and ginger,honey, cinnamon apple pie, 578 cases printed on label, the oak is less pronounced than your typical CA chard, with 39% fermentation in concrete egg..really going for a classical style,lime,lighter gold color, leesy nose reminds me of champagne that dissipated after time in decanter....nothing off

Odd smokey finish for a Chardonnay.

Bright yellow chard with hints of green in the glass Lemon with hints of vanilla Easy expected chard flavors Hints of asparagus or artichoke with a different finish on the pallet. Very few fruit flavors

Second Sunday Group: Laurel Glen Sonoma Mountain Vertical 1986-1996 (Our house) : Another warm up, tasted double blind courtesy of Marty. Lemon, honeysuckle, apple and mineral notes. Has a subtle toasty quality underneath the fruit. Orchard fruit, citrus and almond flavors with a subtle bitter note on the back end. The light toasty quality follows through on the palate. I like this quite a bit.

I usually not a fan of Chardonays, but this was very good.
