Lot's of animal funk the first night. jammy, ripe. next night the funk was gone. I'll open the next bottle one day ahead. a la adouze.

Concentrated, rich and powerful for the vintage, there is a fatness to the texture, with lush textures that pair perfectly with the fresh, soft, peppery fruits. The blend of equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre is very successful for the vintage.

Vin très moderne, beaucoup trop jeune pour être bu. Le vin n'est malgré tout pas marqué par les excès de sucre qu'on rencontre souvent sur 2003. A attendre au moins 10 ans.

Per Patricia, chocolate on the nose. In the mouth a deep rich red/dark fruit concoction with coffee flavors. Probably needs time to open up. Reminded me a lot of the priorat we had earlier in the evening.

2003 CdP tasting at Rothmann's Steakhouse, New York. Well, there is no doubt that this is a modern Chateauneuf. Tons of new oak here. Vanilla, chocholate, coconut oil - but not in an overly overt way. This is not the way Chateauneuf should taste, at least not in my book.
