Wow, this wine is really in a good spot right now, too bad this is my last bottle !! The cork was perfect after a dozen years in the bottle. I consumed this balanced Pinot Noir over two days. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Bright red fruit aromas of pomegranate and cherry, flavors of cranberry, bing cherry, cola, rhubarb, and black tea with a pleasant long finish. Mardikian Estate Vineyard sits only 4 miles from the Pacific …

from the first sip, this wine just exploded with flavors. Sweet cherry, wood and earth that attacks your palate. delightful!

Lighter, mature color with a nice array of fruit flavors. Opened up nicely over a couple of hours. Still has some life to it but ready to drink now.

I absolutely love the wines that the MacPhail's make. I love my Pinot's that have earthiness to them and MacPhail's Gaps Crown and Sangiacomo Pinot's have that! For the most part, the Mardikian label does fall in line with that theme, but its just a bit different, in a good way! This does have a very good balance between fruit and earth with just enough tannin to give it a punch. I imagine their next vintages of this wine will …

Superbly produced Pinot Noir. Dominant nose of fresh cherries but in the mouth this wine shined. Flavors move from strawberry to raspberry to dusty earth. Dramatic in the finish as dusty mouthfeel turns into bright and racy fruit. Bravo !

Dried strawberries, earthy and lots of spice. 14.5%. Grapes were hand picked and 100% de-stemmed per winemaker's notes.

Much better than the two previous bottles....maybe it just needed more time. Bright, juicy and flavorful with berry and spice notes.

West of West Wine Festival (West Sonoma Coast Vintners) (City Winery - Chicago IL) : Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry with subtle spice that I found more nuanced vs the Platt just tasted. Good density, structure and overall balance. Nicely elegant for the 14.5% shown on the label.

Very approachable even at such a young age - very pretty floral/earthy mushroom nose (very much a MacPhail scent), balanced and supple with red fruits.

I have been a big fan of MacPhail wines but this one was very disappointing. HUGE bright cherry nose and taste - so over done it reminded me of cough syrup. I am hoping this was drank to young and aging will mellow out. Leaving the other bottles in the back of the cellar for a long time.

WoW Grand Tasting - Sebastapol. New bottling with different label. Believe this may be an estate bottling. No detailed notes but another very nice Macphail addition. Liked this a bit more than the 2011 Pratt also tasted.
