Wasn't sure what to expect from an 11 year old zin, but this was a welcome surprise. Fruity and a little woodsy on the nose. Red fruit and toasted coconut (?) on the palate. There is a slight sweetness, but has a nice balance with the acid and tannins.

I'm not usually ecstatic about a zinfandel, but this was a really fantastic, one of the best zins I've ever had. This is still quite purple in the glass. Spice, red berries, fine-grained tannins. A slight medicinal or iodine hint. Long finish. A strong competitor to the Ridge zins.

Nice wine with tastes of red berries, cherries and spice, including a hint of cinnamon, and a rounded finish.

Great nose, big red, lots of flavor. Good with a grilled steak!

Not a big, overbearing specimen for a zinfandel, yet it has an elegance about it that I appreciated. Aromas of white pepper, baking spices, blackberries and a nice briar note exploded from the glass. On the palate, the spices were at the same time more pronounced, yet subtle, and the dark fruit mingled with semi-sweet chocolate. The body is not as full as many zinfandels, and I would call it more of a light medium myself. The acidity was nice …

This was a gift from some friends-- I thank them for a great choice. I uncorked the wine and immediately poured a small test taste and the bouquet was explosively wonderfu;l Fruits and flowers on the nose and fantansic tanins and great balance on the tongue. The following pours did not quite hold up to the first but this is an outstanding wine. At 15.2% alcohol it has to be a powerhouse to handle that heat. Other than that inital …

Big jammy zin. Very fruit forward, soft tannins.

The nose is a little hot with alcohol but the flavors are pure Zin magic. A must try for Zin lovers for under $20.

Family Winemakers. Nose of dark cherry fruit, earth, and touch of heat, more of the same on the palate, some complexity, needs two years to peak, tasty, inexpensive, medium/big body, and medium/long finish.

Big solid and well balanced Zin with big pleasant finish. Predominately mixed berry fruit in a dark color. Uncharacteristically for a Zin, held up nicely after three days. In fact, I would rate this wine a 87 on day one, 89 on day two, and 91 on day three. It kept evolving and getting better balanced each day. Excellent QPR at $20. Excellent heavy fruit and tannin integration.
