Very jammy wine, with excess heat. Had a candied flavor on the back end. Not nearly the integration of the 04. Perhaps it just needs a little time, but this wine had less elegance. Seemed much more mainstream.

Sonoma-Napa Trip Day 6 (RRV and DCV) : 15.8% ABV. Richer smelling than the 2004 with more zinberry spice. Sweeter black fruit palate. Touch of residual sugar. Pretty good if you don't mind the RS. $25.

Very Good Strong sense of place in this one as I immediately recognized a certain "sonoma terroir". Burnt sweet cherries. Good tannins. Was a little hot, but ok.

Napa-Noma, May 2008: 15.8% ABV. Tighter smelling initially. Like the 2003 more chalky. The palate is sweeter with rasberry jam and a bit of residual sugar.
