Chatzivaritis Goumenissa vertical tasting (Oinoscent) : High temperatures in August stressed the plants and accelerated the maturation of Xinomavro and Negkoska. It was the first vintage that climate change became apparent with hotter summer but also warmer winter -/- Purely developed color, the wine shows earthy, leathery profile, caramel, dried red cherries, coffee, spicy, cigar box, decadent, welcoming, cinnamon, burnt sugar, Christmas cake. Palate fully developed, red fruit, dissolve tannins, elevated acidity, lean, warmth, a bit aggressive, spicy finish Better …

- Ruby color. It's lacking fruit and has flavours of molasses and cloves with a medium body. Linear texture with a short finish.

Made from Xinomavro and Negosca indigenous grape varieties. Deep red with an amber rim. Quite simple nose dominated by the scent of sun dried tomato and dark fruits. Medium bodied, with soft tannins and medium acidity. Flavors of plums, tomatoes, oak, wet floor and some spices. Short aftertaste. Not complex at all, but pleasant to pair with spare ribs.

(home tasting) Deep red color, sundried tomato over fruits, black pepper and leather. Classic Xinomavro character in the palate with very spicy tones and high acidity. Very soft tannins and quite fruity, it lacks body though and has a short aftertaste. Nevertheless, its surprisingly easy to drink even on its own.

Fairly dark ruby. Tomato, red berries and nicely integrated oak. Mid-bodied with a nice texture, very soft tanins, good fruit and balancing acidity. Long finish. Made from the indegenous varieties xinomavro and negoska under the Goumenissa appelation in Northern Greece. A perfect match for dishes with tomato sauce. This is a new and very promising winery in the Goumenissa region.
