Te Mata, Elston, Hawke's Bay

Composite cork fully intact, sealed, 5 hard "tartrate" crystals on it. Nice straw colour and a good but shy bouquet of stone fruit, porridge, lanolin. The palate is similarly textured with subdued stone fruit such as white nectarine, barely ripe white peach, green melon and a wonderful slight oatmeal influence probably from lees stirring. Soft acidity is adequate and completes the enjoyment as a drink before and during an entree such as cevice. This has lasted the 20 years perfectly. …

Lovely green gold colour. Does not look nor taste 12 years old. Pity it hasn’t built more flavour. Still a bit on the austere under-ripe side.

Nicely balanced between lemon and butter, with good acidity. In a good place now, but should add some complexity in next 2-3 years.

Fragrant nose, more fruity than creamy/oaky. Quite a pineappley palate, definitely a gorgeous drop.

Buttery crisp pear nose. Delicious palate filler, very direct and poised with sharp acidity and a great finish. Great qpr. A steal

Very nice- had some pear on the nose and minerally fruit on the palate with some serious acidity backing it up.

Oak dominant nose, nutty aromas. Rich, full palette, better balance in the mouth than on the nose -creamy, peachy, oaky and long.
