Great berry fruit with black and red berries and with fullness well balanced wine that can take the likes of red meat. Smoky and cigar hints. Can keep in cellar.

This is a lovely wine from the Beaujolais region of France and one I just couldn't wait to try again. I put a touch of a chill on this bottle and it just sang from the glass with lovely ripe cherry with a hint of white pepper on the finish and the freshness of acidity to keep it lively on the tongue. I could have had two more bottles myself

Tasted blind from 16 Old World wines. Deep purple in color. Blackberries, dark cherries, cassis, earthiness, cigarbox, black pepper and leather on the nose. Blackberry, black pepper, cedar, leather and alcohol on the palate. Tannins are medium low.

Nose is juicy, forward and inviting. Juicy, with a veritable fruit salad on display- Blueberry, blackberry and strawberry notes, and a sort of sweet black olive character. Has a confected quality that suggests carbonic maceration, as well as a bit of heat, and a savoury root vegetable character. On the palate, fruit forwardm light on its feet, tasty and refreshing. Palate-exciting acid and a bit of tannin. Very charming. A nice sipper on its own but definitely a versatile food …
