Gerard Mugneret Vosne-Romanée

Bottles from the cellars of Hatton & Edwards; 8/6/2025-12/17/2025 (London) : Wow! Wonderfully stored and fresh as a daisy! Bursting with fresh, sweet strawberries, and just a touch of raw chestnut mushroom and forest floor in the most appealing way. PnP'd and was silky straight out of the bottle, but continued to put on some weight and, texture improved over time. Really lovely and surprising wine.

Slightly firmer and fuler than previous bottle of this. Fruit a little tighter and the sous-bois a little more muted against the spice. Very good. ***

Full garnet, just starting to show signs of fading slightly at the rim. Spicey fruit and a touch of sous-bois; lovely spicy fruit, early signs of tertiary flavours starting to evolve but still bright dark red fruit, spice and a slight earthiness. Lovel balance, moderate length. This is lovely and really quite elegant. ***

Elegant, liquorice tinged Vosne, took a little while to open out, classy when it did
