Bastian Wolber (Laisse Tomber) Gamay

Lovely nose with floral notes, red cherries, a hint of white pepper, a bit of great notes, and raspberries. Nice acidity with more red berries and fruit, cherries, a little pomegranate, and more forest notes on the palate. Good finish. Very delicious Gamay with good complexity.

I did not make a detailed note of this, but it was really well done. Very elegant in texture and alcohol, red fruit, some creamy notes, flowers, surprisingly open.

A nice gamay. No doubt. Better than a Metras fleurie? Heeeell to the naw naw naw.

Kaleidoscopic nose with peonies, lavender and red fruits. More subtle on the palate, with bing cherries, granite, very fine tannin

Floral nose of raspberry and red cherry with interesting spiced and herbal notes that remind me of old bay seasoning. It’s like a gymnast: powerful but agile and expressive. The palate is lifted and juicy with great acidic grip. There are layers of light red raspberry but also toasty dark lines underneath. It is pure and savory, well textured by silky tannins. Finished long Incredibly delicious!

Crunchy red fruit, decent amount of concentration, good acidity, all in great balance. Really impressive for a VDF gamay. Possibly one of my favorite expressions of this varietal.

Light and fruity, attractive freshness.

Made from Gamay grown on granite (from a centenarian vineyard in the southern Beaujolais, according to Steen Öhman), 12.5% ABV. Light ruby red colour with a hint of blue in the rim; both nose and palate display a delightfully pure and gentle expression of Gamay, flowers and fruit (green apple, white peach, red cherry), just a whiff of reduction, cool yet spicy minerality, light as a feather but with a hint of cream from the old vines, flowing and playful, …
