95 - still drinking amazingly. I let it breathe in the bottle (friend didn't have a decanter) for ~3 hours before imbibing. Super silky smooth. Lots of depth and structure. Still has primary, secondary, and tertiary flavors. It is hard for me to believe this was a $25 bottle of wine. What a steal!

Decanted two hours. Over the course of a meal of eggplant Parmesan (another two hours) the wine improved steadily, from 92 to 94 to 96+. Rich, complex, with velvety chocolate notes galore—nutmeg, spice, raisin. At 17 years, this has entered its peak. Impressive. Glad I have more bottles.

Medium red color. Aromas of dried fruits, licorice and bitter chocolate. Ripe and fully-integrated fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Not a blockbuster but nicely full and juicy on the palate. This delicious wine is in its peak drinking period and an excellent value.

Drank in London Incredibly rich and smooth. Very high alcohol but you do not notice it. Lovely.

Great nose, long finish, paired perfect with a braised pork ragu and truffle polenta. Still has 3-4 more years worth of cellaring.

Bought this in Italy 4 years ago. So glad I saved it! The wine smells like cherry, raisin, and tobacco. The body is full. The wine finishes long. It tastes and bit alcohol/hot at first but gives way to pure cherry and tobacco. The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. The wine is surprisingly smooth to be so bold.

I was fortunate enough to acquire a whole case of this almost a year ago at a wine auction. I first opened a bottle last night and found it is really fantastic with a pleasingly bold nose crossing between pepper and over-ripe plums, falls on the tonque with a really pleasing surprise, and throws back to a great finish! Okay, so I'm pretty nuts about it, now the question I need help in answering: How long will it cellar? I've …

This wine is singing right now. Not technically sophisticated I suppose, but this is a beautiful wine, lush and decedent. We were enjoying it too much to analyze the wine, but it is full bodied and fruit forward, like an Italian woman, delicious and yummy, you want to keep going back for another taste.

A year makes a difference (at least to me); everything that you are seeking, color, nose, depth of fruit, and finally the linger on the tongue. And no, you can't ask me why I don't more...

- Aromas of black pepper and blackberry. It's in total harmony with a full body. Polished texture with a long finish - Really flavorful. Let it breathe in decanter for n hour. Improved over the next hour. Amazing nose on the wine. Strong berry flavor. A great example of a well made amarone. I have one more and can't wait for the occasion to pop it.

I made the mistake of giving this too much air. It still had great flavor but was a little bit flat. I gave it about 3 hours in the glass. Next time I will only give it about an hour. It still had great fruit and an awesome QPR.

High intensity, high impact without being heavy or clumsy. Very little tannin. My first experience with Amarone, but hopefully not my last!

Decent on day one - better than a 2008 Masi Costasera Amarone we had a month prior. Better on day 2 - more complexity emerged. 90-91pts, based on day 2. Very good value for Amarone.

Representative Amarone at a very good price. Fruit on this bottle was a bit austere. Maybe just an off bottle or an off palate day.

This is an amazing QPR Amarone. I have tried lots of inexpensive Amarones and been highly dissappointed. Not this time. Lots of blackberry and raisin flavor, very nice nose, extremely long legs. Hihgly recommended for the price.
