Close your eyes if you are don’t like crassness. This is angel spunk. Such a surprise. Third bottle of a vertical bought at auction. The first two consumed were 2007, one was undrinkable, the second was nice. The 2006 on PNP is velvet, mouth coating, balanced red fruit with a long finish. The nose suggests metallic or funk but the taste is magnificent.

Decanted 2 hours. Not as integrated as you'd expect. Really needs 4+ hours. Still could age for years.

Much like another contemporaneous Paso wine (2004 Garretson "Mon Amie" Syrah) opened alongside this one, this was distinctly over the hill. Overly roasted fruit has taken on an unpleasant bitter note. Should have been consumed at least a decade ago to enjoy its exuberant charms.

Five hour decant. Still showing very well. Well integrated and balanced. Lots of black fruit and some pepper. Tasted alongside a 2005 Saxum. Both had same varietals but different ratios. Saxum came out a bit on top.

BRIARY FRUIT IN THE NOSE WITH BLACK RASPBERRIES AND SPICE. BLACKBERRIES AND RED BERRIES IN THE FLAVOR. NICE COMPLEXITY AND A MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.

Needs food. Blackberry liqueur, currants, black olive, smoke and salted meat. Too much heat and doesn't dissipate enough even after a several hour decant. 90 points with lamb chops, 85 points without.

Unlike most of the Linne Calodo blends I've had, and enjoyed, this one seemed disjointed and unbalanced, and maybe even a little harsh on the finish. Disappointing.

Round big black forboding powerful fruit. a big wine. Not much spice, love, olive, or any other typical savory flavor. Hedonistic yet balanced, proud, and sophisticated with only fruit nuance. My first Calodo and I'm intrigued.

We love the Linne Calodo blends. The "Slacker" is my wife's favorite for so many reasons. Blended for pleasure with 67% syrah, 18% grenache, 15% mourvedre, this was a winner at Thanksgiving.

Nice fruit but an over whelming vegetal taste that is not right. The fruit and smoky spice take over and all is not lost. Not up to par for LC.

Black fruits with pepper and savory notes which mute the fruit. Rich. Smoke. Slight coffee-chocolate finish. Nice balance, though the smoke notes were a little too pronounced for me. Good wine though.

absolutely stunning, especially for the price point; drinks like a far more expensive wine fruit was perfect; full bodied but not over the top, this wine is consistent with the other notes that are here, the best points all wrapped into one

Surprising how much fruit is still left on this - I expected it to be earthier than it was. Deep, dark and inky with a nose full of cherries and intricate flavors that kept changing from when we opened it to when we finished it. Wonderfully complex and smooth. Stems up!

Intense, and provactive blend that's highly detailed and focused. Invigorating fruit pours onto the palate featuring delicious cherry and raspberry dotted with spice and a cedar edge. A beautifully orchestrated combination of pure fruit, pretty oak structure and pinpoint delivery. A persistant and exhuberant finish that's pronounced with red licorice and a touch of cocoa. Well made and at a great drinking stage. Linne Calodo tasting room - Paso Robles Harvest Festival.

A nose of black cherry and spice, dark, almost black in color. A full bodied but smooth Rhone styled blend, cassis, mineral tones, delicious, decant some for best results. If you are ever in the central coast area this winery is a much stop.

Loads of raspberry and spice. Lavendar nose and very fruity with a bit too much candied vanilla in the finish. Decent acid, but overall just not a very elegant wine. Seems a bit high in alcohol also.

Well this wine actually performed better than I expected in all. Im always concerned about how the over the top LC style would hold up and while Im not sure this one gained any by holding it certainly hasnt fallen apart. Nice nose and still big fruit, that has really mellowed though. Just a slight bit of porty/raisin on the front but not overwhelming. Tannin is resolved. Im still in favor of drinking my newer releases young.

I was a bit worried because liquid had just seeped up to the top of the cork, which had a slight vinegary smell. The initial nose on pouring was astringent, but swirling it in the glass brought out hints of richness and even floral notes. Lovely dark red-purple color. Sipping it brings a lightness, a bit of acidity, white pepper, and honey. Very little fruit, but quite pleasant and rich-tasting.

After a good hour in a decanter this wine shows the structure the we have come to expect from Linne Calodo. Ripe blueberries on the nose, wonderful velvety mouth feel. Medium tannins with black pepper on the finish. Love it!

Consumed at home with Bully burgers. Bright disc. Opaque purple robe with violet rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of ripe blackberries, animal fur, vanilla and earth. Full-bodied on the palate, with low acidity, huge (and somewhat dry) tannins and ripe flavors which mirror the nose. There is clearly a substantial amount of residual sugar in this wine, which is accentuated by the dominant, hot alcohol (with the label undoubtedly under-reportiing at 15%). Long but hot finish. This is …

This wine is really starting to come around. The last bottle I had was about 9 month ago and it was tight and the finish was disjointed. After being open for 30 minutes, the nose was getting bigger and the finish was smoothing out. I will wait another 6 months to try another bottle as this wine is looking more promising.

Notes from memory: As always, a great wine. Ripe blackberry with a great white pepper and cedar spice. For as big as it is, it was very balanced and was a fantastic pairing with a smoked paprika rubbed flank steak. Drinking great now, but not going anywhere.
