Convento San Lorenzo Valtellina Superiore - Sassella

Popped and poured. Consumed with Caesar salad and flavorful pasta. Nice little wine. Clear reddish garnet. Spicy herbal cherry nose. Light side of medium, more cherries and herbs (rosemary), and spice (white pepper) and maybe some iron minerality. Finish is spicy and moving towards orange rind. Tannins are well integrated. Acidity is refreshing. Not revelatory but a really solid wine that feels right at the price. A bit modern leaning (polished) although no oak.
