Beautiful wine. Dark fruit, saddle leather, bacon fat, multiple secondary overtones, tannins resolving but still present, opened beautifully in the glass, long finish. A delight.

Medium bodied, beautiful fruit and modified tannins. Smooth , classy and totally enjoyable. Great to have a cellar to age these wines.

Pop and pour. Wonderful dark fruit, good balance, tannins resolving, nice peppery, mildly complex taste on the palate. Did better with a little air in the glass.

Porty, stewed fruit, very traditional. Probably a bit late to be drinking. Still good in an old fashioned way but drink up soon! Drinking well with braised lamb, lamb shank, mutton, venison or beef stew.

Excellent value...this had a nice richness without being too heavy. A real crowd pleaser.

Opened 1 hour before drinking. The nose was almost absent. Flavors of plum and cherry with mild hints of vanilla and chocolate. Tasted great with food. No way this is past its prime, should be good and rewarding for a couple more years.

Delicate boysenberry fruit underpinned by coffee, herb tea, mushroom and forest flavors. Very earthy and rich. Well knitted and good mouth feel. Delicious.

Earthy, leather and brett aromas with a nice tannic structure. Interesting wine.

Very ready to drink. Smooth tannins, some fruit, but a good wine with food.

I would say approaching its best. Served celler temp, just about a perfect summer's day wine for quaffing and good enough for a meal.

PnP. Ruby toward purple core, no sign of age. Earthy, primary aromas of garrigue, plum, blackberries, iodine. Medium-bodied with generous acids, slight tannins. Horse, animal, purple flowers, lots of acid. Worth every penny of the $15 I paid at Costco. Truly reflects its place and style. Much more complex and enjoyable than I'd anticipated. Drink thru 2014, 14,0% abv

Weekly tasting group #012; Southern Rhône (@ VD) : Just a little bit of barnyard in the bouquet at the start. Then beautiful spiciness. On the palate it is firm with red as well as black fruits; cherries, leather as well. Firm amount of bitterness and soft but firm tannin. Mild acidity. Really a nice wine in the first phase of maturity. The tannin promises another 5+ years.

Aging nicely, has a ways to go, no need to drink now; dark, structured, fruity, some barnyard but this has more syrah than Grenache so it has a smoothness that comes through well; mine was certainly not sour or bitter like one comment below; I don't see the tar either; but I agree that it is not complicated -- blackberry, blueberry, juicy; phenomenol for the $11 I paid at Costco

Mocerateky deep red. Lovely nose with loaded with blackberry, plum and perhaps cherry. Hint of barnyard as it begins to open up. Moderate mouthfeel, well integrated from start to finish with fruit and tannins. Backround of dirt or stone, but no funkiness. Popped and poured. First impression - really nice and great at the price.

The last of three Southern Rhones this evening. Not a great showing. Color of a Pinot Noir, heavy barnyard on the nose, bitter -- even sour -- finish. Not one I'd buy again.

Dark red colour. Black berries and almost ripe plums.hints of oak. Some licorice. Soft and powerful in the mouth. Tight finish with some tar. Good, ripe southern Rhone.

First bottle was tasted 2 yrs ago and I gave it an 84. This bottle is much improved and has matured. It is now a very well integrated Rhone. The bitter edginess is gone, although there is still a lot of tannin. It is definitely a food wine and it compliments the food rather than distracting from it. The fruit is holding up well I am learning that many southern Rhones need more time on the rack. Patience is rewarded.

Very nice Rhone. The light color deceives the medium to full body, dense, chewy fruit and super clean but full finish. So well balanced and seamless throughout.
