Marie Courtin, Eloquence Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut

Pale and moderate froth. Brioche and churned milk on the nose. Medium body, dry, cream, vanilla, and ripe citrus with excellent acidity and minerality. Crisp and delicious.

Dsg 12/2024. Blanc de Blancs. Aged 50% stainless steel and 50% oak. A nose of strawberry and biscuit, quite unusual for a BdB. Very saline on the palate, but still with that basket of red fruits, nice acidity, and a finish of jasmine and chalk. A very good champagne.

Very good champagne, my first BdB from the Aube. Very ripe fruits, lots of peach and leaning into pineapple. Good backbone of mineralogy and saline. Joel really liked it which is unusual for him for this style of champagne

Another bottle of the November 2022 disgorgement. Last night I grabbed a bottle for dinner, when we polished off about 3/4ths of it. November 2022 disgorgement. 100% Chard, no dose, farmed bio. 50% in old wood and 50% in tank. Opened this 2 days ago, and on that night the wine came across as muddled to me, lacking the cut and definition I expect from this cuvee. There was lime but really that was about it. Didn't have any yesterday, so retrying today and it's held the CO2 very well, making a big pop when I pulled off the stopper. Some toasty aroma. …

This is a bright medium yellow colored wine. The palate is filled with ripe apple with a bit of lemon and strawberry. This wine has incredible balance between the fruit and acidity. This is an elegant champagne with a supple consistency without any rough edges from attack to finish. The finish is persistent with the fruit. Overall this is a distinguished and smooth wine.
