Needed a lot of aeration. Initially upfront and rather one dimensional. Should decant? Gained impressive depth and length. Mouth filling. Formidable example of terroir. Still appears young. Future hard to forecast given my limited knowledge of these wines.

Smoky and savoury. Earthy. Quite closed, fruit not showing through yet. Leave another year? I had the 2010 previously, much better developed.

Pinot-palooza (Carriageworks, Redfern) : Medium minus intensity aromas of biscuit, smoked bacon, ash, slight red fruit. In the mouth the wine is savoury initially with mutes sweet red fruit but then big, unyielding tannin grip. Meh.
