Difficult to score as although still eminently drinkable with sufficient fruit and acidity this was fairly clearly past its prime. Whatever tannic structure the wine did have earlier has now melted into a soft slightly jammy wine. Balance thus just about but limited in length, complexity or intensity. Drink up as I cannot see likely improvement

Big, rich and generous. Robust structure, could be syrah if it weren't for the rose perfumed soft fruit palate of fresh raspberries, blueberries and blackcurrant. This is a full bodied wine with medium tannin and acidity and high alcohol. Good but not great. Very pleasing and satisfying wine, lacks the depth to score higher. Long finish but straight forward. Drink now and over the next 10 years.

Really quite extraordinary wine. Blind on a quick mouthful I would have said this was a very upscale Aussie Shiraz. It has that same big rich generous structure, blueberry and menthol on the palate. It is only the slightly softer more feminine blackcurrant notes that hint at something other than Shiraz. Loads of warm, ripe depth and generous weight. Long long finish and complex. Drink now and over the next 10 years.

Deep purple. Black fruit, cherry, licorice, wood spice on the nose. Secondary flavours of wood, greenery (eucalyptus) as well as more cherry and blackberry. Soft tannin. Lingering in mouth.

Cherry flavor first night but better following days.

Wnat a nose! ... simply overflowing with rich aromas of cassis liqueur, mint (like a York mint), cocoa and oak. Medium-bodied, with juicy cassis fruit and a super-smooth mouthfeel. Vibrant acidity, but the structure is not very aggressive. Has what I perceived as the Australian equivalent to "Rutherford dust" along with a long, drying finish. Not as powerful and rugged as I expected, and it was was more in the style and character of a Barolo than a big, powerful …

Big, massive, powerful drinking McLaren Vale Cabernet. Didn't seem to open up for me all the way so I would say it still needs time.

A quality wine. Deep and rich on the nose with a nicely layered palate. Medium-to-full bodied with very fine, persistent tannins. Marred by some tartness on the finish, but still very enjoyable.

Excellent wine with solid QPR. Big yet nuanced with layered cabernet flavors emerging as the wine opens. I love California cab yet have bought two cases of this Aussie gem.

A touch of cork spoilt the wine
