Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Pure Roussanne

Really nice with lots of rich, unctuous tropical and stone fruit, baking spice, lemon curd, firm minerality, some floral notes and subtle petrol undertones.

This was really excellent tonight almost immediately after opening with rich, almost unctous, tropical and stone fruit with notes of baking spice and lemon curd. There's also some floral undertones riding on the core of firm minerality. I wish there was just a tiny bit more acidity, but to my tastes this is drinking beautifully right now.

Notes of lemon blossom, white peach, quince and stone. Good weight and acidity with bright, pretty fruit on the palate. Finishes well.

Rich nose of buttered almonds, mango and peach. Waxy texture, medium-full bodied with great length. Very layered. Good acidity, but has trouble cutting through the fat in this wine. Not your typical cep blanc. Not your typical roussanne. I see this as a very enjoyable short-term wine. Quite indulgent.

Very nice all roussanne CdP, chalky, smooth, long finish.
