Château Castagnac Bordeaux

Red fruits, mint, leather. Very light and chuggable

Its.. fine. Not a ton of distinction, just kind of... red. A fine daily drinker for the price.

Ripe fruit on the nose. Just a touch green but drinking well.

Did not impress my wife, she said it drinks like a $10-12 wine. For me, it is still young. I aerated and gave time in carafe and it improved over the course of an hour. It is not overly sweet and has a nice acid balance. Taste of cherry, red fruit, Merlot-centric, with very firm tannins. It needs an hour of air or a couple of years of aging. Pleasant, but not a complex wine. Nice everyday wine value.

Nice dark ruby color in the glass with a nose of red cherry, raspberry liqueur, mint and leather. Notes of juicy red berries, cherry, vanilla and a mild salinity. Medium dry with powdery tannins and a pleasant mouthfeel.

Med color Nose > Light red & wild berries. Slightly floral. Palate > Slightly soupy, spicy berry flavors. Very firm finish, with some slightly overbalanced aggressive, hard pressed grape tannins.
