Heavier than expected. Sat a bit flat in the glass. Like the marzipan reference from another taster's notes. There was just enough of that to dull the overall delivery. Pale golden color, wanted more zing.

Compared to two years ago, this has gotten an even smoother mouthfeel and there's a marzipan note that wasn't there before, maybe in exchange for a bit of the tropical fruit. The oak is a bit more noticeable but this still shows nice floral notes and a touch of citrus. Drink now but this has aged well.

after first opening, I was disappointed. It had one dimensional tropical notes and some dull minerality that somehow weighed it down. Also, the oak was showing and the butter was prevalent. not my thing. re corked and put in fridge for next day... 2nd day, what a difference. Lemon curd and vibrant acidity now frame this wine with tropical notes in background and minerality making a nice balance. a bit much on oak if I can get too nit picky, …

Light yellow color. Strong nose of tropical fruit, coconut suntan lotion, citrus, vanilla beans and a touch of burnt sugar. Really nice nose. The palate was not as complex with mostly citrus and oak driven notes and a touch of butter on the back end. Slightly creamy mouthfeel but finished a little hot. Overall though a very nice chardonnay that went really well with some jumbo lump crab cakes.

Fabulous wine with some tart lemon and grass. NOT a good first bottle. You'll have a hard time getting a clean palate after this one.

Attention-grabbing balance. Full, very fresh Cali chard flavors yet with some off-setting acidity that still leaves this on the silky side. Opened as a starter and it almost stole the show.

Easily the best bottle yet. Smooth, with lots of complexity.

It was my birthday, so I quit early and went into the backyard to open up a white. I loved the Gretna Green, so took a chance on this. This is just not a style of wine that I like. I know others that might like it more. Very "typical" of what I think of when I think Cal Chard. The nose shows some lemons, solid fruit but vanilla and oak. Buttered popcorn as well. On the palate, this has …

Loved this wine. On the nose, melons, a little pineapple, some wet stone. On the palate, med-full weight. Tremendous balance. Little hint of lemon with the melon, some minerality, just enough butter, but not oaky. Went great with grilled lobster. Would highly recommend this wine. 92pts. Aloha!

Nose of baked yellow and white fruits-pears, apple, little pineapple with a vanilla overtone and cree brulee hint. Body is med+ weight, and accompanies flavors of oak, some rich fruit, baked apples and minor spice tones. Bit of banana comes on the back end of the medium-length finish. A bit low in acid to support this weight, but tasty and easy drinking.

This chard had a lovely nose of lemon, white florals and pineapple. Those notes followed through to the palate with a touch of oak spice, but the palate seemed lackluster in comparison to the nose. Overall, a very good chard that will pair nicely with many meals (was especially tasty with chicken in a Burgundy-inspired sauce of this wine, dijon and some heavy cream).

Notes of tangerine, ruby red grapefruit, and white flowers. Rich and viscous on the slightly waxy palate without an overt oakiness. Lacked some acidity but food seemed to really bring it out. Excellent with ricotta gnocchi, which brought out some of the acidity.

Cantaloupe, lemon and a hint of pineapple on the nose. Medium to full bodied with medium+ acidity. Pineapple comes to the forefront on the palate and it's ripe but balanced by prominent, lemony acidity. Long stony finish. Clearly Cali chard but a wonderful example.

Really nice. Buttery without being overly buttery. Smooth and not a big oak bomb. Nice lemongrass, peach and apple notes.
