Last bottle of a case of 12. Ruby red with a hint of purple still left in it. Red and black fruits and a little eucalyptus on the nose. Dark red fruits and some minerality. Still has a surprisingly strong finish and acidity. Enjoyable but not as good as a few years ago

Deep purple to a violet edge, the aromas are fresh lavender and dried red flowers (touch violet too) with lifted fruits of blueberry, black raspberry and boysenberry. Garrigue notes appear joined by minerals, cool river stones, Pepper and stem along with sour cream and smoke. The entry is vibrant with a granitic feel, crisp acidity and a cool refreshing approach. Blue fruits and black cherry meet evergreen leaves, brine, stems and sea salt/seaweed. The tannins are firm yet fine-grained giving …

Deep ruby wine with purple edges; Perfumed and complex, with notes of tilled soils, pepper, cherry stem, black cherry flesh, olives in brine, mineral-saline, and smoke. This segues into mulberry, boysenberry, blueberry, and garrigue elements. A lovely, soft, sappy entry with lively acidity, a core of sweet, fleshy fruit and compote is framed by firm, sinewy tannins. Interspersed are steely notes that build to pencil shavings, pepper and mineral edges. Medium-bodied and complex, the mid-palate to back palate introduces cherry …

Had this in my cellar for 6 years. Kept standing upright for 6 months anticipating opening for a true discerning Rhone connoisseur. Today, the Silicon Valley Open Studios, I chose this for me, as I deserved a really good Syrah. I chose well. My studio is rife with hundreds of bottles of Syrah too, so this was a difficult pick. My intent was to keep this back for my enjoyment and to only share with those who knew what it …

偏红色水果的果味和少许胡椒、甘草的香料味,整体略显沉闷。入口酸度较高,使果味的存在感也得到了加强,只是略显单调。

Deep ruby, the nose exudes lavender, red cherry flesh, peppercorns, wildflowers - cistus, bay leaf, wild fennel with oak nuances of balsa wood and some roasted meat - beef topside! There is a coolness to the nose that continues on the palate. Here darker rather than red fruit meets juicy sappy elements, (stem inclusion?) good intensity of flavour with feral qualities and a dry sort of chopped stone (reminds me of cold limestone), grippy tannins tempered with a creme fraiche …

Still very young, tannic, and primary but starting to develop a bit of appealing funk on the nose. Needs a couple more years of cellar time to round off the sharp edges.

Still a young wine, but everything is integrated and round here, full bodied, dark fruit, but not over done in the warm year. There is a lot of Syrah here, but it is well mannered ... will keep.

Deep, dark. Pleasant earthiness, but overall disappointingly monolithic. Still, enjoyable enough over three nights.

Heady, spicy, inky dark syrah - very Frenchy - high acid - needs food, but nice

This is really starting to drink well much more developed than the last bottle, it's lost that typical young Syrah nose and taste and is much more rounded and interesting it still has strong red fruits, a little darker than before and good peppery edge

Needs a good bit of air if you open it now. Deep, opaque purple. A very interesting nose that hints at what this wine may become, but the tannins overwhelm the blackberry fruit and whatever subtlety the nose promises. The new oak influence is a little higher than would be optimal.

Ten St.Joseph and a couple of Cornas - blind tasting : (Tasted blind) Much darker than Jaboulet St.Joseph Le Grand Pompée 2010 tasted before it. A riper, more extracted style. Quite silky, dry, fruits hiding behind a veil of tannins. Not ready yet, good development potential. Now - (B/B-)

Probably a bit young but still a lovely drinking experience, lovely nose of dark bramble fruit, some smoked meat, crushed rock and subtle cedar, palate is elegant with fruit filled complexity throughout the drying tannins on the finish should integrate nicely with a few more years on it's side

Vacation Wines (Loire, Rhône, Jura) (Chez M.) : Shining dark crimson colour. The first glass was absolutely terrible, nothing but cold and hard wood, cold ash and cigarette smoke, hints of vanilla and cherry, very grainy. On the palate, thin fruit, some petrol, terrible bitterness in the finish. The wine had been opened the morning of the night we drank it. It should have been decanted. The second glass an hour later was way better and really wonderful, the oak …

Au restaurant, pas de notes formelles. Couleur violet foncé, syrah sur le fruit, pas trop costaud. Très bien.

Northern Rhone Visit, May 2009; 5/14/2009-5/17/2009 (Condrieu, Ampuis, Cornas, Tain -- France) : Tasted at the Domaine with Andre Perret himself -- From bottle, much more explosive fresh fruit and molten pepper than the '07 Village SJ. Candied fruits and sexy oak.
